get the 4age-20v black-top... and keep it stock. That one will have enough power to satisfy 99.9% of your speed needs.![]()
And get brakes. The last "hataw" accident that made the news was a bunch of kids in a 4AGZE equipped Corolla.
Get good brakes... and good tires.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Yeah, change the rear brakes to Levin discs. There are surplus ones around 5-6K for the pair including handbrake cable (don't buy if this is not included). Then look for Corona/Exsior brake pads if already needed.
If you put it this way, an AE101 with stock Silvertop can go side-by-side with a stock SiR, and imagine if it were a supercharged GZE or Blacktop! Unless you plan to drag-race hard core, the performance of a stock 20-valve should already be enough for everyday driving.
oist, luma na pala 'tong thread na 'to. but anywayz, for 4A-GE 20 Valve modifications, I would suggest do the basic I-H-E modifications (Intake-Headers-Exhaust). and like what everyone says, whatever chassis you put this badboy in, you should upgrade your Brakes, Suspension and Tires.
although you can upgrade the whole Valvetrain components (for ex: TODA Titanium Valves, Springs & Retainers. HKS 264/272 cams, TODA Cam gears, etc..) expect that these 4AGE's *16 valve or 20 valve* to scream & perform tremendously well, and you might wanna upgrade the Tachometer while your at it (TRD 10-11K RPM tach?? hehehe). but then again, thats gonna cost you an arm and a leg
so for a street car, keep it stock nalang!!
aite, peace.
