September 27th, 2003 09:02 AM #2Try mo Liqui-Moly with MoS2.
That's what we use on our vehicles including the rallye car.
320/liter.
We have it at our shop.

Havoline Energy since rated Energy Saving by API and cheaper then Mobil 1 or HAvoline Fully Synthetic. ;)

I'd go with Mobil 1 (synthetic) over Havoline Synthetic and Havoline Energy... both are API SJ/SL rated i think.
Take note though, even if you're using synth oil in your ride, you have to service it every 5,000km. Its still suggested to change the oil every 5K given our harsh road conditions but some can settle for changing at 10k with synth but change the oil filter at the 5K mark.
On the plugs, if you're not using platinum ones, change it every 20,000km and clean/inspect every 5000km.
AutoXer, is the Liqui Moly synth or mineral based?

October 1st, 2003 05:56 PM #6Meron akong nakikitang Mobil 1 15w40 with supersyn, race formula daw to. Is this good?? Can I use a race formula oil if I don't really race. The grade is the only one that fits me actually.
75T kms na so medyo thicker oil na and factory recommended naman talaga sa accord is 15w40 or 20w50.

....masama ba yung biglang palit ng viscosity ng langis? kasi alagang mobil1 oto ko eh tapos yung huling change oil ko nag havoline energy ako (medyo budgetting ako eh).
...engine is a 7yr old 7AFE with around 28k++ miles on it (so mga 44k++km yun).

October 3rd, 2003 07:15 AM #9AC,
Top1 is only a synth blend, not a full synth oil. Try buying Mobil 1 from autosport along 20th ave in cubao, cheaper than most.
icon,
Could it have been mobil 1- 15w50? Have not heard of a 15w40 grade in mobil1. You can use the 15w50, specially for high rev or turbo engines. This is what i'm using in a miata since they run hotter than usual.
scarab,
what viscosity are you using now- 5w30? Is the havoline energy a full synth oil? A 5w30 oil may be thin if not a full synth.
What viscosity
