    Need help.

My car won't start. It's a 97 Mitsu GLXi matic. I've checked power windows, lights, radio and it its working so it might not be the battery. Previously, it would take me 5-6 attempts before it starts. Is it a starter problem? Thanks and hoping for your reply on this.

could be the starter. pag nag start ka ba, hirap sya? o click lang?
pag click lang kasi, dead battery, pero pag ayaw tumuloy, starter.

hmmm. probably the battery nga. please take note that even though the stereo, lights and the power windows are working, it does not mean na malakas pa battery mo.

how long have you been using that battery? kung more than three years na, i am sure its the battery.

kung bago lang ang battery or around a year pa lang nagagamit, try to clean the terminals first, and tighten the nuts connecting the battery to the terminals.

1SM, i think costs around 2.5k++. not sure.

I agree with 1d4lv. I had this problem once, battery pala ang problema. Suggest you try muna replacing with a working battery and see if your car starts para ma isolate ang problema. Replace your battery if your car starts with the working battery. .

Kung talagang malakas pa ang headlights and your electronics are working A-OK, then discount the battery as the culprit. Cranking takes a lot of stored energy away from the battery, so kung mahina na ito, it can't supply enough juice after 15 failed attempts.

Based on your description, I'd hazard a guess that its either your starter or starter solenoid. Baka pudpod na yung carbon brush ng starter.

If it's the battery, get the 2SM (kung kasya). It has more plates and reserve energy than your typical 1SM. Mga 1.9k lang (Megaforce brand).

...or maybe your ignition switch. I had that problem before and tried to isolate it starting from the battery, starter then switch. After checking the battery and starter and found them to be okay, I surmise it should be the switch. So wired the starter lines from the switch and test it. My car started. Just my 2 cents.

I had that problem once, which was traced to a loose battery terminal connection. Replaced the Brass terminals, cost: 2 brass terminal 30pesos.

Have you tried checking checking your fuel filter? Next time it happens

    try this...

    1. Remove your fuel filter fom it's clip that is located in your firewall

with your left hand. Hammer it with the handle of a screw driver for

    20 seconds to clear it.

    2. Start your engine. If it works.

    3. Buy a new filter and replace.

    first check this thread: http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29335

2nd, since naka-15 attempt na kayo...ibig sabihin naubos na rin ang power ng batter nyo

try nyo munang ipa-series, kung umandar then may problema nga battery nga...replace it na.

last week na-experienced ko ito, nagpaseries na ako..nde pa rin umandar ang makina, walang "clik, clik" sound, walang "redondo"...pati mga fuse tinignan ko, wala din problema..ginawa ko tumawag na ako ng mekaniko na kilala ko...ayun in 10 minutes nakita ang problema, nakatanggal pala ang connection from the battery papunta sa solenoid...ang tanong..paano natanggal? since mahigpit ang pagkakalagay non!

you may want to have a mechanic go to you or tow your car to a shop para macheck agad.
