December 5th, 2003 02:16 PM #3Sa pagkakaalam ko tune-up din. Glow plugs are some of the parts that occassionally needs attention. Basically, engine components of gas-fed and diesel units are the same. Except for the main engine, ofcourse. :D
What systems/parts are checked during a tune-up?
-Starting system
-Fuel system
-Charging system
-Exhaust system
-Ignition system
-Engine block
Do-It-Yourself Vehicle Maintenance Checks:
-Inspect V-belts monthly. Replace worn glazed or torn belt.
-Check engine oil every fortnight. Remove dipstick, wipe it clean, insert it and remove it again. If oil level is low, add oil.
-Check radiator water/coolant level weekly. Do not remove radiator pressure cap when engine is hot.
-Check brake fluid reservoir. If brake fluid is below minimum mark, add. Do not open cap unless refilling fluids only. Water may cause mixing and premature brake operation.
-Keep windshield reservoir full and keep the wiper blades clean. If wiper blades are worn or brittle, replace them.

-Look for signs of oil seepage on shock absorbers. Test shock action by bouncing car up and down. The car, should stop bouncing when you step back.
-Replace worn or leaking shocks Repair shocks in pairs i.e. both front shocks or both rear shocks or all four.
-Ensure all lights are clean and working including brake and reverse lights, turn signals and emergency flashers.
-Check battery monthly in cold weather, weekly in hot weather and daily on long trips. Make sure cables are attached securely and free of corrosion Check battery fluid level, if need add fluid, but in most cases, new batteries come out as Maintenance Free.
-Check for loose or broken exhaust clamps and supports. Check for holes in muffler or pipes. Repair or replace rusted or damaged parts.

December 5th, 2003 08:01 PM #8pwede po bang pahabol ng tanong? kahit sino po pwedeng sumagot....yung adventure namin magiisang taon na po...use it as shuttle service...di na namin na pa PMS kasi alo pong budget...masyado pong mabigat sa bulsa....nasa 42kms na po ang milage....pero regular po ang palit ko ng langis every 5t kms...ano po ba ang dapat kong icheck pa aside from regular change oil?yung bang ginagawa sa PMS meron bang alternatibong auto service center na mas mura ang singil compared sa casa? any recommendation?salamat po uli....

December 5th, 2003 10:35 PM #9Gas station service bays usually do some maintenance steps that is definitely cheaper than casa. Just follow what is indicated in your owner's manual when to change differential and transmission oils, change water/coolant system, and other quirks. :D

December 7th, 2003 08:03 PM #11at 42K, ang alam ko marami ng palitin dyan....fan/aircon/power steering belts, brake pads and shoes, tranny oil and differential oil, air-filter and gas filter....check your manual. My frontier have all those recommended to be replace at 40K.

January 6th, 2004 10:39 PM #13Ok yung tips ni Ungas wala pa din ako masyado alam sa Diesel..at saka di rin ako sanay mag pa service ng hindi sa CASA..aside from servitek saan pa bamas ok na shop yung parang casa din ang service

January 12th, 2004 10:28 PM #17i agree with all the reply... check po ninyo yung manual or tanong po ninyo sa casa kung ano papalitan.. sure naman na sasagutin nila kayo kahit hindi ninyo pagawa sa kanila....

150php din pa din ba yung wheel bearing sa rear wheel?
sa toyota casa eh they didn't repack the rear wheel bearing sa 40T Km PMS ...
