boybi, kailangan ng student visa. The last time I checked, student visa ang gamit ng mga terrorist sa 9/11. Having said that, she's going to need a lot of luck dahil mas mahigpit na ang student visa ngayon.

Lets not underestimate the US consuls. Ganito ang iisipin on kapatid:
"Applying for a student visa from a tourist who's visa is expiring soon. How odd."

if you don't want to pay for a lawyer, might as well visit the nearest us immigration office and ask them what your options are. better to be honest than to end up blackballed from returning.

    1. talaga bang oct. 1 pa pwede mag apply ng working visa? hindi ba sila nagaaccept ng application before that date?
    2. pwede ba syang magpa extend ng stay sa US? 3 months ang binigay sa kanya which will end on Sept 22.
I am an H1b visa holder.
1)Fiscal year for filing start Oct 1. Pwedeng mag apply sya now. pero limited na ang H1 visa to 60,000. Goodluck. Ano ba skill niya?

my brother and his family went to the us 2 years ago as a tourist. they hired a lawyer to process their papers. They already spent around USD10,000 to this lawyer and so far what he's got is:
    1. Authentic SSS number (original not pirated, legal)
    2. Drivers License

The lawyer promised to give his wife her own SSS number and driver's license.

His current status is: Legal to get a work, overstaying tourist. medyo magulo nga lang.

    boybi,

Try nya yun H5. Bale 3 years ang validity nito and pwede i-extend for another 3 years (same as H1).

boybi, ganito ginawa ng sis ko pero 1995 pa yun, doctor din siya, I think pag doctor ka you still need to have an internship and training sa US for 3 or 4 yrs yata, then yun hospital ang magsponsor saiyo nag internship siya sa long island pumunta siya dyan not as a tourist, dito siya nag apply ng O visa yata, people w/ special skill yata itong visa na ito, and dito rin siya nag test for the internship yun nakapasa siya bago siya pumunta doon, I'm not sure about this basta yun visa niya hinde pwedeng mag petition... now nasa south carolina na siya btw, she's a pediatrician w/ sub specialty in neonathology(SP???)

For the same reason why you're here kapatid. :hihihi:

The only thing she needs is a very good lawyer. Kahit $10,000 pa ang fee, boybi's in-law wouldnt have any problem paying for it kapag may work na sya dito sa US.

    1. Who's SSN is this? Make sure that their SSN doesnt belong to someone who is already dead. Its going to bite them back in the end. Its very common for some lawyers to obtain someone else's SSN after they die.

    2. Anyone can get a driver's license kahit na Tourist Visa lang kapatid. (AFAIK, in California)

    3. Legal to work but overstaying?! Kung magulo, delikado. Staying legally in the United States shouldnt be magulo.

Ika nga, count your blessings...
