go for the nissan..test drive na lng..check mo engine and a/c kasi medyo mahal parts ng orig a/c parts ng nissan..also check the clutch kasi manual/cable type ang sentra 98 so may wear and tear talaga..check mo kung bago palit kasi it cost 7-9k if orig parts gamit..i'm a satisfied sentra fe 98 owner din..oks naman total performance..will sell it din in the near future for upgrade to newer nissan model..pandagdag sa downpayment
goodluck!!

Di naman. We got 3 Nissans in the family. My older brother with a '96 Nissan Sentre SS MT, my younger brother with a '97 Nissan Sentra SS AT and my dad with a '98 Nissan Vanette MT. All three are religiously maintained.... ergo, walang "unexpected" problems. Either it's fixed before it cause inconvenience and additional damage or no problems at all.
Any car would cause headache if not maintained regularly.
Particularly in your case, have a trusted technician check whichever car you plan to buy. Ask the current owner for maintenance records/history.... receipts of repairs, etc. That way, you'd (more or less) reduce the level of risk in getting a problematic 2nd hand car.

August 7th, 2009 01:02 AM #27Sir Ganda nung Nissan. It's the best pick.

http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/vi...%2C09089759310
I own a 1998 Vanette and its rate of fuel consumption is still 6Km/L city driving. Around 7.5Km/L highway driving, both A/C on... Sorry, cannot help you on where you can go for the problem. Just giving you some benchmark numbers....
