Ganito ginawa namin sa Radiator ng Honda Accord ng kaibigan ko .Ayos naman basta mahalaga malakas ang Auxillary fan mo.

Additional observation . If you take a long drive specially on a highway you can easily determine if you car burn fuel efficiently by looking in the tip of your muffler or exhaust if the color is whitish brown meaning to say your engine burned the fuel well.If the color is black carbon meaning rich or gasoline not burned well that why you smell gasoline on the exhaust. This apply to gasoline car.
Check the Following.
1. Proper engine timing spec. on your manual
2. Check sparkplug.
3. Check high tension wire
4 . Check distributor if gives enough current . Rotor, Ignition coil inside .

Last December your last tune up . Did the following method done on your car.

The scent of gasoline from the rear/exhaust of my Nissan Exalta 2002 GS <N16> was greatly minimized after I did some probing and following your recommendations. Did contact cleaning of the electrical connectors with a contact cleaner. This includes the ignition coil down to the spark plugs. I can't believe this one has four <4> ignition coils! Really different from the carburator types with just one. With my Celeste before, I got two installed so when the car bogs down, I know the coil is overheating so I just make a quick switch.

No high tension wire though. Just one harness with four sets of wires and female connectors that connect to the male ignition coil connectors.

After cleaning all the connectors that I can find and reach and disengage, the engine response improved. My daughter was surprised because she got used to it's sluggishness. I cautioned her to be careful with the accelerator or she might miscalculate the car's response. Oh, well!

I can still smell a whiff of gasoline from the rear as I get off the car. This time really greatly reduced unlike before. I think I'm the only one now who notices it. Quite satisfied with my efforts but I know there's more to be done to improve the fuel burning and fuel/kilometer ratio. Based on my calculations, the car was doing 5-6 kilometers per liter of Petron XCS city driving with air con before my daughter entrusted it to me. Now it is doing 8-9 kilometers per liter. Whew! Quite a relief to know that the car performance <fuel/kilometer> can still be improved.

Probably with some more very careful tinkering, the fuel/kilometer ratio can still be improved. With the price of XCS now and still to go up, I'm really motivated to do this as my time allows. Will post update.

By the way, I managed to download a SERVICE MANUAL FOR NISSAN ALMERA N16 that served as my guide and still do. Anybody who wants a copy - just send me an e-mail <jetmav*gmail.com> and I'll send it to you as an attachment. You must have Adobe Reader to open or view the files.

Hehe... Very well said/written. Yes I don't mind getting my hands and fingers dirty or greased that takes a day to clean up. The joy and self satisfaction you get from getting things done yourself cannot be measured by monetary terms.

By the way, after having done my own DIY, the ENGINE MULFUNCTION LIGHT on the dashboard lighted up. I don't know why. It's been on for two <2> weeks now and there's no change in the car's performance. But I did check the manual and it has something to do with the engine control system.

I check back on the connectors - disconnected and connected them tightly but the light is still on when the engine is running. The manual says that I should take the car for a check up.

Anybody with that same problem before?

Noong linggo galing ako nang tagaytay sa SLEX ako dumaan via Sta Rosa .Pabalik dumaan pa ako ng bayan ng Sta Rosa at Nag exit ako ng Binan at may pinuntahan ako sa Las Pinas sa West Gate ako dumaan ma traffic at umuwi na ako Manila Bale 1000.00 kinarga ko meron pa 1/4 natira .Tol bale normal driving lang ako . 55/liter XCS. natakbo ko bale 168 km balikan 9.3 KM Mix city and highway Sa tingin ko kung highway straight at 80KPH lang takbo mo mas matipid pa .Nagtangal lang ako ng carbon muffler tip color brownish white at manipis lang carbon. Iba talaga nabibiya he ng sa highway. Tol sulit naman ang naka SR20 lakas makina kaya alaga ko makina. Mag SR ka na pag may EB balitaan mo lang ako sama ko itong mga Tsikot member na naka Nissan rito . Tol, THANKS.

Subukan mo reset ECU .tangalin mo muna iyong positive terminal at ibalik mo ulit kung mawawala iyong ilaw . Kung mayroon pa check mo na lang sa casa by using consult para malaman problema sa makina.

hi question lang po, baka naman may alam po kayong nagbebenta ng MAF sensor ng 2000 Exalta, pina check ko kse sa CASA MAF daw ang problema, hirap kse humatak tsumotsupe pag umaarangkada. thanks!!

okay lang ba walang thermostat? tinanggal din yung akin, pero mahirap i start kung wala yun dahil laging may tubig ung makina hindi umiinit agad. kakabitan ko nga uli once na makahanap ako nung fail safe na thermostat yung pag nasira naka open sya instead na close. delikado kase yung walang fail safe baka mag OH

Tol ,Iyong MAF sensor kung surplus hanap mo sa Banawe Engine Master subukan mo .Wala ka namang problema may warranty naman sila sa piyesa na makukuha mo .Kung ito sira may mekaniko sila na magkakabit at makipagtawaran ka na lang sa presyo.

4. yung oil level ng engine medyo mababa ng konti sa high, weekly ko check di naman nababawasan, siguro nun nag PMS ako sadyang kulang lang nalagay nila, kung gusto ko dagdagan san ako makakabili ng langis nun ( regular oil lang pinapalagay ko sa casa)
5.shell unleaded gamit ko city driving e 8.5kms/L, highway mataas ako umaabot ng 14, dati din ako XCS pero mas nagustuhan ko shell
6. yung timing chain pano ko malaman kung sira na yun, ano yun tunog, 56kms ODO ko ngayon

Kung 56,000 na Odo mo hindi pa napapalitan time na para palit gear oil.
Iyong Level ng lang langis sa dipstick kung kulang ng kaunti okay lang huwag lang sobra sa high level hindi rin maganda sa makina. Every 5000 KM change oil . Dagdagan mo lang ng kaunti kung kulang okay lang kung kulang mas madaling magdagdag kaysa magbawas mag papatulo ka pa sa ilalim ng oil drain plug.
Iyong timing chain pag palitin na iyan maririnig mong iingay iyan maganda lang may warning siya na hindi kagaya ng belt paghindi mo napalitan agad mapuputol.
