Castro is a good brand but basically most oils are the same especially if it's formulated for a specific purpose but if your going to use a crappy filter the oil you use won't make much difference.
I use the best for my ride, though you can't get them there YET! (2012 baby) I run Fleetguard these are not over the counter filters but for fleet use and much higher quality they also trap 4 to 5 times more dirt and you can go 15000 KLM between oil changes.
Why OEM sucks. just take a look at one.
Nissan OEM filter is of very low quality, paper end caps, terrible reverse flow valve, weak filter media, weak inner tube, and a pretty crappy by-pass valve.
OEM
Really bad media with cardboard end caps.
Can easily collapse under pressure not to mention rupture and allow oil to go unfiltered.
Most Japan filters are not much better

Now compare a Fleetguard or Baldwin filter which are both for fleet use as well as a K&N and Mobil1 filter. Fram is no better than the Japan brands so just stay clear of them.
Fleetguard
Baldwin
K&N
Mobil1
Motorcraft
Union filters are ok as far as filters go they have metal end caps at least and so Do VIC but that's about it everything else is the basic cheap stuff.
So you can use the most expensive oil there is but if your filter is crap it really does not matter.

They are a mid grade filter, made by the same company that use to makes Mobil1 which was Champion, now they are made by Puralator. They Regular paper filter media claim is semi synthetic, not so great bypass valve.
This would be the one for your Navara D40 engine. Still better than the OEM Nissan filter by a mile. They are perfectly fine for 5000klm oil and filter changes.
More models
OEM Nissan sucks all the ones I have seen have really bad construction and paper end caps with what looks like almost a foam type media.
Like I showed before it's total crap.
