Another reason to look into a Elgrand is it's safety, It's one of the few Japan vehicles that has retained all the US safety features as its US twin the Pathfinder. Mainly because it is considered a luxury vehicle.

Things it kept, The super strong frame of the R50 pathfinder, Same front and rear bumper supports, same side impact beams in the doors and body of the vehicle.

These things make a big difference, big big difference. Most vehicles there take heavy damage with minor accidents, compared to a Crosswind it's a tank.

For example a offset crash in a Elgrand you will walk away from easily under 60klm per hour. The Elgrand/Terrano/Regulus all share this in their shared frame.

Used car safety ratings by make: Nissan | NZ Transport Agency

    They score a excellent.

Compare to a Hi-ACE which is a little death trap in most accidents.

Used car safety ratings by make: Toyota | NZ Transport Agency

    Or a local spacegear

Used car safety ratings by make: Mitsubishi | NZ Transport Agency

    Few vehicles score better.
in a front end offset real world accident.

Now look at the thickness of the rear bumper support of the Elgrand. This is solid as a rock and can take a hell of a hit.

    Solid!

This is the typical swiss cheese bumbers you will find on Japanese vans not meant for market with countries that actually have high safety standards.

Your turbo should be making a nice whistle, It gets louder when you add a cone filter. Make sure you get your EGR valve passage ways checked for blockage since it is a used vehicle, It can be a expensive repair job if it gets blocked and you don't have the manual boost controller in place to limit the boost and keep it from overboosting.

How gorgeous is that. Old model looks great but this thing just makes the other makes look tacky. Front end looks like the new Explorer.

Yes you can and believe me you will want to, The injection pump is very, very expensive in the Neo 3.0. A few hundred peso's a month in 2T can save you repairs on a 200000P injection pump.
