Here is an explanation on the adoption of CVT by Nissan:

Nissan’s initial strategy for responding to the twin demands of a changing market—improved fuel economy and reduced emissions—was to make continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) the automatic transmission option in all its passenger cars. CVTs generally will improve fuel economy, but Nissan quickly learned that “CVT” didn’t have the marketing cachet of “hybrid.”

Road master is the old Xtrail with additional features like GPS, LCD sa windshield and other stuff that I don't memorize. It's a souped up old Xtrail but i think it's only available in 2.0L since the old Xtrail with 2.5L is already phased out as per Nissan Gallery. The old Xtrail is around P1.1M raw, you can check the price of the Roadmaster edition.

Old X-Trail is now being offered at P1.015million after discounts.

The Road Master package cost P60K as an add-on option.

Most new crdi diesel engines would require Euro 4 or 5 compliant diesel fuel. We mostly have Euro 2 diesel here.

Yup! the sulfur content of the diesel in the Philippines is ridiculous!

BTW, saw the T31 yesterday (No test drive units), nothing much in it just the CVT transmission, same old engine with single VVT.

Don't get me wrong, I love my T30. but this one is a bit off comparing to the other compact SUV newly released particularly the Hyundai Tucson whis is a few thousands cheaper.

Baka mga 1 peso nalang daw anga difference from the unleaded gasolines. Pero for me ok lang yun, basta malinis
