Not necessarily, big bike accidents are few because there are not that many big bikes in the first place. What riders need is strict riding education where the average rider will fail at least three times.

BMW bikers drive carefully??? i beg to differ. i've seen a lot of them do crazy stuff on the highway. it's not really about the ride, it's about the rider.

Correct. The BMW Owners Society of "Safe Riders" aka B.O.S.S. held a road race in the north once and got 2 innocent bystanders killed. They also put a fellow Tsikoteer in harms way when an Adventure avoided a head-on collision with a BMW rider along Kennon Road. The Adventure almost ran off a cliff.

Sorry to say but I wonder if some suggestions in this thread are merely jokes or its just that some people here are simply too thick.

The fact many people nowadays are buying motorcycles because they now have an affordable chance to own a private vehicle especially since we all know that public transportation in this country is really shitty. And this is despite all the risks involved.

Do you think most will still be riding motorcycles for commuting if they can afford a car? As if car owners will take public transport if there's a choice.

There are obviously many problems that needs to be solved especially with education and enforcement of rules.

But one thing I never see being discussed is that for me, motorcycles especially on financial terms should be required to have comprehensive insurance just like cars. This helps solves many road disputes at least.

Ditto. To the very least, bikers should have this. (kahit walang acts of God coverage hehehe)

My apologies, bro. Your post kinda left a sour taste in my mouth. Peace tayo.

Sometimes, our elitist views hinder us from getting to the the real issue. As some forumers here have mentioned, a good way of doing this right is to start with the LTO. If they will execute this the right way, makikita natin na nasa tamang kaalaman at disiplina ang problema, di sa presyo ng kasakyan.

(Take note that to get the license restriction for bikes, ang exam ay pang oto pa rin. Nothing about taking curves, overtaking, bike physics, etc.

and those riders who use the public road for racing for example marilaque (sierra madre)

and those MC clubs who tolerate it.. (wtf??)

its doesnt mean you know how to use your MC it means you know how to use the road...

Riders who think they own the road.

3-lane road na same direction lahat. Nasa likod so malayo pa kaya you slowly go to his lane because you have to turn right at a parking lot on that road...

Most vehicles would slow down to give way dahil nasa unahan ka nga naman di ba? But no... with motorcycles they think they own the road! Bibilisan nila tapos bubusinahan ka nang pagkalakas-lakas! FYI, common courtesy and common sense tells us bastos it di ba?

Meron din pag oovertake ka and you see a motorcycle behind you, malayo pa sa likod mo so you signal your intent to overtake the vehicle in front pero yung motorcycle bigla din bubusina tapos bibilisan para mauna sa yo!

Honestly, I don't see the sense there since before ka naman mag-overtake eh clear na mas mabilis ka sa kanila. Haay ego nga naman ng mga nagda-drive.
