This is a good read to understand the difference between glass (quartz) and ceramic Quartz and Ceramic Coatings | Concept Chemicals.

Based on my queries ATMT is accredited by CarPro to apply the professional grade CQ UK Professional & CQ Finest, hence, they are required to meet CarPro's standard in order to protect its reputation. Whereas, TD uses the consumer grade CQ ver 3 which is available to consumers/DIYers. However, I am not sure if TD is accredited by CarPro for professional grade products. Based on product specs and from Youtube DIY, consumer grade products does not require IR curing compared to professional grade products. I guess paint protection is getting a significant boost by making it available not only to professional detailers but to consumers/DIYers as well. Which is good, in my opinion.

Personally talked to the owner of TD. According to him, CarPro has only one exclusive distributor in the Philippines, which is ATMT, also in Pasig. He tried to get CarPro pero naunahan daw siya.

He also doesnt "bake" the cars after coating. His method of curing is to not use the car for 24-48 hours, which is why he requires the car to be caoted be left in his shop for more than 24 hours, para sure na mag cure.

Again, this is not verbatim, but this is close to the accurate information I got from him.

I got my car coated with TD. I was asked not only by the owner of TD but also a lot people why sa TD and not sa ATMT, eh sila ang distributor ng CarPro. I tell them that customer service and after-sales service will always be a main selling point for me. Sabi nga din ni TD, he does not hard sell, and I told him na that was why I went to him instead sa iba, because i can guarantee na quality over quantity sila.

Pano mo nasabi sir na mas okay ang customer service and after-sales service ng TD sa ATMT?

Well after coating with TD, it got rained on after 14hrs.

Hopefully it has cured already. Nilalagyan naman daw nila ng Reload pag maulan para sacrificial layer.

Been a month now since, and I'm seeing less water beading already. I guess that's normal lang.

What do you mean less water beading? Nag-po-pool ung water or sheets off? If it sheets off, thats better IMO.

Does TD offer cquartz pro and finest?

Pag tinapatan mo ng hose, mas mabilis mawala yung water dati compared to now. And yes, I'm seeing more sheeting than beading compared nung freshly coated.

I think ATMT lang ang may Pro and Finest Reserve.

Depends siguro sa bagsak ng ulan or water kung mag bead or mag sheet. Pero sa akin din last step ko when washing the car is hose off lang with no pressure para mag sheet ung water pababa. Less effort in drying as compared to maraming water beads hehe

Ako ung isang SUV, hindi ko pa na-re-recoat. I think mag 2 years na this year. Alaga lang ng nung Mckee's hydro blue spray and rinse off Si02 coating. Mga once in 3 months ko ginagawa.

Madami na water spotting sa hood though (flat kasi, not angled). Planning to buy carpro essence plus, try ko kung matanggal. Hehe

I had this issue initially. Paghugas ko sa car, it didnt bead and sheet. I contacted TD, tapos sabi niya, it wont talaga if the car is dirty. That time, naulanan yung kotse and nalagyang ng napakaraming dumi from the tree where it was parked.

True enough after removing the dirt, it beaded and sheeted like it was supposed to do.

So my tip is, if dirty talaga, remove the layer of dirt first. Yung dirt covers the coating below and is the one trapping the water.

I think 2 years, then maintenance after 1 year (free).

But I'm planning to re-coat just after 1 year.

It's really hard to tell kase if meron pang coating, unlike if wax/sealant, just reapply when in doubt.

I think sulit naman yung yearly coating if 6x a week driven. Consolation lang na covered parking house/office plus pag weekend lang naarawan ng todo.

Parang na-upgrade yung yearly detaling ko to yearly coating hehe.

Whoa! A month pa lang after coating and the water sheets already with less water beading? Wow that is a bad sign.

Personally, I prefer extensive water sheeting than beading. Yes, beading looks cool to watch but the main purpose of coating is to quickly repel water as much as possible to avoid watermarks and facilitate touch less drying. If water sheets quickly then I am assured that the coating is serving its main purpose of repelling water.

Did TD conduct a "before" and "after" paint thickness measurement on random areas of your panels for your reference? If so, you can point out the areas where the coating failed due to significant variance in paint + coating thickness when you bring your car to TD for inspection. I assume TD applied the consumer grade CQuartz UK ver 3.0 to your car.

Yup CQUK 3.0. He just mentioned na the hood is thinner than other panels.

Highly possible yan ang ginamit na ceramic coating ng Technical Details na hindi nila pinagtatapat sa customers nila. Dapat ang gamit nila yung professional version dahil installers sila and not DIYers.

I never said TD's customer service and after-sales are better than ATMT. What i said was customer service and after-sales service are a selling point for me. There's a difference.
