So i propose to just let it be and move on with the topic. Parang useless lang to keep talking about reaching 200km/h? Anybody agree with me or am i the only one?

good day po fellow monty enthusiasts. been busy addressing my beloved monty’s steering issues. finally…and i do say finally with a huge sigh of relief…naayos din! many pages back, i posted about hearing rattling sounds on my steering wheel whenever i pass uneven road surfaces. faint but noticeable if you have a keen sense of hearing and are meticulous about your ride. the culprit…the joint steering assembly. eto po yung nakakabit sa dulo ng steering shaft leading to the rack and pinion. where for some with similar steering issues, replacing the shaft solved the problem. mine was the shaft and said assembly.

i am posting this with no intention of exposing another problem of the montero sport and adding to the list of complaints about this SUV, consequently diminishing the reputation of this great ride. rather, gusto ko po ipaalam na these and other problems CAN BE addressed. kaya po tayo meron warranty claims just like any other brand new car. dahil di lahat ng lumalabas sa assembly line ay perpekto. may ilan talaga na nakakalusot sa quality control dahil lilitaw na lang yung problema sa araw araw na pag gamit. frustrating and disappointing at first, i must admit, but i guess a little perspective and patience goes a long way in turning those negative feelings into gratification.

much credit i give to the kind and professional people at diamond motors marcos hwy led by mr. Roy Aquino, service manager. he was instrumental in solving the problem. alaga pa oto ko don. do bring your rides there for your regular PMS and other service concerns. they know what they’re doing.

now my monty’s steering is rock solid! even with 35 psi at the front, no problems driving over those uneven patches on the road i used to dread so much! so for those who are experiencing rattling sounds on your steering wheel, do have the steering shaft and joint steering assembly checked. warranty naman po lahat ito and it will only take a whole day or less at the shop to replace the defective parts plus alignment and road test.

hope this helps! enjoy the ride! EB na nga!
