I was thinking the same bro.

Serious safety issue iyan, dahil maglalock and steering wheel, mahina preno at pwede siyang maaksidente... Very scary!!!

    60kph is not slow....

Steering wheel will not lock while your key is in ON position. Your brakes will have pressure left in the booster, unless ur pumping your brakes multiple times, which you won't, to stop.

I agree its a hassle and i agree thats its dangerous. So the above is just informing you that you can steer and brake to safety if your fuel pump fails.

Thanks for that bro. I think you're correct, but drivers will react differently and hopefully will not result to serious accident...

Also, suddenly happening when you're overtaking? That's a serious concern...

Bro.shadow, Rush ka na lang ulit...😂😍😎

So finally they're admitting the fuel pump is defective.

    Good luck to all owners.

    i am wondering,
are there other things that they are not divulging?

silent recall would have been nice, and would probably have generated goodwill and repeat costumers in the future..
but what they did was, "keeping quiet until the silence became deafening". a dishonest way to conduct business, in my opinion. also potentially dangerous, as the part might quit at the most in-opportune time.

Isn't that the SOP of most large corporations Doc? Keep quite and hope the problem goes away, and if it doesn't, only then will they come up with a solution. Just to keep costs down and investors happy so they can keep their million-dollar salaries and benefits.

Wait, after reading that post from carguide, the recall is from May 2018 to October 22, 2019? Wasn't the fuel pump issue a "known issue" from earlier this year?

James Deakin posted about it around May 2019 if I check back the earlier post about it, meaning the owners had issues earlier than that.

So MMPC still opted to sell stocks with the "old fuel pump design/model" without replacing them before delivery.

ang basa ko sa ginawa nila and from my experience, what Mitsu did last May was acknowledge that there was a problem but they still didn't know the root cause. so they didn't do a recall but gave buyers assurance that they were looking into it. if the customer wanted the fuel pump replaced, they would do it but there was no guarantee that the problem has been fixed since they would replace it with the same part. i get this kasi nga naman, baka electrical or other source and problem.

they may have found the root cause only in Sep or Oct and that's when they did the recall. what irked me is the delay with which the recall was issued in the PH. when the article, came out in Oct, i immediately asked my SA about it and her reply was that the recall was in Vietnam and not PH. one month after pa nag issue sa atin tapos silent pa muna. yung delay in finding the solution is not much of an issue for me kasi may cases pa nga na naka bagong generation na, tsaka palang nagkaka recall ng previous gen.

still happy with the vehicle though.

We have one in the garage now. Haven't used since the one who'll use it is still WFH.

Tried it from Antipolo to Bulacan and drives okay. Just 300kms on the odo.

will they come up with a version, wherein the headlights are at the level of the front hood?

the current model reminds me of Starfire of the cartoon teen titans.
    ...anatomically wrong..

Kung hindi lang sana matakaw sa gas during heavy traffic.
I heard from users mismo FC is 5km/L daw during heavy traffic.
And also, when I test drive this unit, parang hindi masyado malamig yong Aircon compare to Montero.
That was at 1pm on summer when I testdrive this unit.

Yung sa ASX, light feel on slow speeds and gets a bit firmer at 150kmh or more.

Luggage space mas okay Innova, 3rd-row seats folded.
    3. Okay ang ride/ NVH ng Xpander.
4, Mas maliit kabig ng Xpander, mas madali i-park. Mas light steering.
    (nag-steady naman sa highway speeds)

Ride comfort goes to Xpander, and lighter steering.

Space is almost the same, but the Innova has larger space at the back.

    Innova is quicker and faster.

Planning to get a second hand Xpander. Medyo madami nagbebenta na relatively new with low mileages. Any new problems/issues with it?
