How much do you spend on average annually on your FM? I find that amongst all of our vehicles in Manila, the FM's maintenance is the highest. Well, the rest are Toyota and Honda. I am wondering if your maintenance expenses are lower. I think this year, I've spent over 60,000 and last year was over 100,000 but that was because I bought tyres.
    Parang anlaki naman sir?

maintenance just basic lang change oil and fluids... palit carbon brush sa mga fans na kelangan, Pero di aabot naman ng 60-100K ...
Its actually cheaper to maintain than my Isuzu since it never breaks down... malaki lang ginastos ko is palit dashboard pero 18K na yun .. plus aux fan na 2K ...

di ko na sama Euro lights and other upgrades since di maintenance yun... hahaha

That's the thing I am wondering about. I was looking at my expenses and was a bit surprised. One of my biggest costs was with the power steering hoses. That cost me 20,000+ since the hoses I got were OEM.

I have had to change the brakes, lights, tyres, change the visors, door handle, coolant reservoir, stereo, belts, washers, alarm, some wiring, speakers (the originals finally gave), filters (oil, fuel, air), oil (I regularly change every 4,000-5000). Everything is OEM except for the brakes to which I used Bendix. I forgot what else but speedyfix even kidded me that almost everything has been replaced in the last 2 years. I also drain my coolant and brake fluid every year as well as my cooling system and change all fluids regularly. It doesn't make sense to me. I better review all my receipts again.

What is your Isuzu? I want a vehicle that is cheap and easy to maintain.

Yung sa akin ang gastos ko for this year sa parts replacement lang hindi kasama yung upgrade at yung change oil, gear oil at transmission oil ay Php 28.5 K.

Has anyone here installed an additional fan for the condenser of their FM? I went to this electrical shop in banawe and the electrician suggested this. He said para hindi daw masyado hirap yung condenser and will improve the aircon system overall. Pati na rin daw yung performance. The cost is 2800, includes both the fan assembly and labor. Would like to know if anyone has this installed, and if the improvement is worth the cost. Thanks

Mind you converted unit pa to.. hehehe ..

Tingin ko kaya ka napapamahal dahil ke speedyfix.. hanap ka na lang ng trusted mechanic, doesn't take a casa or a shop to maintain a pajero. Parts when they do breakdown cost a lot more than AUV's but they do last way longer. Mine is at 126,000kms and still haven't replaced a ball joint under... shocks nga lang palit pero nag excel-g lang ako so 5K 4pcs. halos same with Isuzu. Parts are even easier to find ... If OEM ka all the way mapapasubo ka talaga, pero it doesn't follow na basta OEM its the best and only option. Dami OEM parts and consumable na mahal sa Pajero, like airfilter, oil filter etc... but hindi sila ang the best out there... even transmission support daw madali masira ang OEM but not the whole ha, one part yata forgot what it is... Ikaw ba first owner?

Hmm... maybe mine needs a bit more TLC. Using your expenses as a benchmark, if my FM keeps this up, I might sell it. I don't want to have to keep on spending that much money. Maybe I'll copy CB and get a Jimny.

Yung sabi mo nga na almost lahat (yan ang TLC) ay napalitan mo na and almost OEM so it will take years na ulit para I replace. Matipid na ang maintenance for the years to come. Sabi nga ni BG hanap ka ng mas murang shop to do yung normal maintenance mo para mas matipid pa.

Yes I am but I don't always use it. I'm out of the country often (almost 2 weeks of every month) and the driver uses it when I'm not around so I don't know how good the guy is to my FM. It also wasn't driven for 3 years where it just stayed in the garage. I was getting a bit annoyed that every time I'm back, I need to spend some time with it at the garage. Oh... I also replaced the front belts recently since it didn't want to retract anymore as well as the door strikers. I am hoping that after all the repairs I am doing, it won't give me anymore headaches for a while.

Just to add, I used to put in RP all the time but it seemed that before 4,000 or 5,000 was up, my oil level would reach a little above half. When I switched to 15w-40, my oil level stayed. That also made me wonder. My FM doesn't belch smoke so I am happy about that and it can still easily reach 120 when I need to.

    BG / Nelany,

Any recommended shops in the Makati area? I think it is high time that I also try looking for Atutubo's shop.

Parang doggy kelangan me exercise... hehehe

Hmmmm, quite big nga yun 100k for a yearly maintenance. I am also a RP user and that one eh 600 per liter na agad and you need 7 liters of it. Now that I've discovered Top 1 SDO, yun yearly cost ko will be trimmed down by at least half, plus that Baldwin filter helps to extend you oil change interval. So to sum up, excluding other expenses (break down of parts and upgrades), estimate ko around 10-15k for my yearly maintenance. Kaso, dalawa yun Pajero ko, so up to 30k ang budget

In span of 5 years, naka 3 palit na ko ng tensioner.
