I believe that model Fortuner uses a gated shifter. No brake interlock between R and N.
You just need to depress the brake pedal to get out of Park.

April 11th, 2024 06:08 PM #4916malay natin...
mebbe the spare tyre is in the seat behind the driver...
according to google,
the jimny's stock tyre carrier may not accomodate upsized wheels.
but upsized tyre carriers are available in the market, naman daw.Last edited by dr. d; April 11th, 2024 at 06:16 PM.

April 11th, 2024 08:12 PM #4918Maybe it's time to open new thread dedicated to SUA from any cars.
Baka bibo ulit yung thread.
Also, that would help us determine ilang vehicles on that brand/model experienced the SUA.

April 12th, 2024 10:01 AM #4919All the more so then, because the stupidity was intentional. Alam na nga ng owner that the new wheels won't fit the rear spare tire carrier, sige pa rin.
You spend 40-60k on a set of four oversize tires (wala pa magwheels sa cost na yan) just to end up completely immobilized when you get a flat.
Furthermore, as a 4wd vehicle, the Jimny can't be towed by conventional means without risking damage to the drive train. Flat bed carrier pa kailangan.
Oh, its an SUA alright, where the "S" stands for "stupid"
Nawalan ng preno kuno, but its simply driver error at stepping on the gas instead of the brake.

April 12th, 2024 11:40 AM #4920in my view,
if the spare tyre is in the cabin, behind the driver, and he has a complete set of replace-the-tyre tools, that absolves him of this sin.
but i wonder,
i do not recall any LTO renewal of mine, where they checked my spare tyre's presence.
yes, they checked the EWD, but the spare tyre...?
heh heh.
OT.Last edited by dr. d; April 12th, 2024 at 11:44 AM.
