good luck indeed! kahit ano pa findings nyan wala na din bibili ng montero na a/t, old or new. kung sana in-address agad yung problema, meron man o wala, instead of knee jerk reaction na mag-deny...

Forward Collision Mitigation and Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation now installed in the new MS. Are these new features anti-SUA? Seems to me they are.

That's possible. Then all it would take is a simple idle surge. But that doesn't explain the "wild revving" after the vehicle hits the obstacle.

That would still require driver error, stuck throttle or runaway throttle condition.

Looking at the Barr report and this one by Koopman:

    http://users.ece.cmu.edu/~koopman/pu..._ua_slides.pdf

They successfully proved that Toyota USA did not exercise "reasonable care", which is how they lost the civil suit. It would still be difficult to use this evidence against them in a criminal suit. Here, all they had to prove is that if the error occured (bit flip), SUA could result. Which they did successfully. As per Koopman, there's a possibility of a serious fault once every 5 million hours. I don't know the chances of this particular one happening (it's likely a much, much lower probabilty). But it's a non-zero chance, and all they needed to prove was that Toyota's failsafes did not work (and they didn't, in certain situations) so Toyota lost that case.

Proving that it could happen in the Montero would help push the owners' cases. But it would take much longer than the DTI's two week deadline.

I still believe that if there is a system fault, you won't have to dig that deeply. If there is a fault this prevalent, it should be reported elsewhere as well. I've dug and found many issues related to the throttle and the transmission outside the Philippines, but no out-and-out SUA. This is where the DTI should start... work from known defects and extrapolate from there, rather than aiming at proving something beyond their capacity to investigate.

Also, yeah... plant demonstrations won't prove much at this point. Either technically or PR-wise. Unless it's done on neutral ground, the public isn't going to buy it.

Yan na sana maganda pang entice nila. Sort of assurance kaso kinupit pa? Eh kung ginawa ba standards yun for all variant eh di swak sana. Yun nga lang parang inamin nila dito na yung old model is really me SUA issue.

Mahina yung PR ng MMPC. Dapat mag file sila ng suit against ABS CBN. For creating public panic and scandal. May counter suit din para sa mga willing victim ng alleged SUA.

ABS, maybe... but against the victims, counter-productive.

There are victims who aren't bandwagon-riding... they sincerely believe they have a case. Some of them might. Some of them might not.

Besides, in this country, it's political suicide to pick on the "small guy"... fighting ABS CBN, that'll be okay with people. Two big companies duking it out. But to act punitively against your own customers? I don't think there's an easier way to lose sales than that.

Would you buy from a company knowing that they might sue you if you publicly complain about a defect?

Last night, around midnight, I was on C-5 south bound. Saw a red Montero near the intersection of McKinley Hill, next to the Korean Embassy. Its windshield was shattered, the vehicle was positioned perpendicular to c-5, rear wheels on the service road divider. Looks like a self-accident. Sleepy driver? Or another SUA incident? Will we hear about it in ABS on Monday? Everyday, at least 1 accident?

After over a hundred SUA incidents, and still counting... do still think this is cause by PURELY human error?

lahat nalang nagsasabi, it revs. to high heavens...

A driver instinct would make him let go of the gas pedal...

Kapag bus, jeep or taxi ang bumangga, automatic reason "lumusot ang preno" kapag montero, "SUA".

Wala pa ako nababalitaan na umamin na kasalanan nila bakit nabangga

my friend owns a 2009 AT glx and suffered SUA QC in 2014 he just didnt joined the bandwagon coz he already sold the said unit as salvageable parts as its a total wreck...

hit a motorcycle 2 cars.. paid the motorcycle guy hospital bills ...

hes driver is a veteran driver.. he cant contest the case as its not him driving.. its easy to say SUA but theres not only 100 plus monteros are affected there are

some that don't report anymore as they already sold or salvage their units..

how can you built a case if your not sure if your driver is telling the truth or not even if you trust your driver..

Sir hindi DAW nagsisinungaling sila mr. bernardino bernardo (sya yung artista na SUA victim lagi nagpapa interview). Totoo DAW po sinasabi nila at di daw sya nagbibisyo ng inom at yosi. Mga professionals daw sila at may pinag aralan, so totoo mga sinasabi nila.
