To those who own a Mirage, have you encountered problems/common issues with the car?
i have a 5-yr old g4 gls mt. current mileage is about 119k kms. common issues i have had

    1. yung squealing brakes pag bagong andar. resolved it by buying replacement brake pads.
    2. weak aircon. have to replace the cabin filter every 5k km pms.
    3. twice na ko nagpalit ng wheel bearings. the last one i did only after about 6k kms. sakit sa bulsa.
    4. annoying rattling sound when you turn on the aircon. not a big issue though.
    5. the gap between the bumper and the hood. ang lapad na nya.
    6. grinding sound pag nagshift ka to reverse. remedy is shift ka muna into a forward gear, then reverse para smooth ang pasok.

Most of the above are just annoyances except for the wheel bearing problem. yan ang main gripe ko. cheapipay ang parts na yan ng mitsu. even their clutch components ambilis ng wear & tear. have to replace mine (disc, pressure plate, release bearing) after about 70k kms kasi sliding na. in my old corolla it took me about 150k++ kms bago nagslide ang clutch.

But in terms of engine performance and fuel economy, i have no complaints.

    i wonder,
have these issues been fixed in subsequent models?are today's models still suffering from these complaints?

    Most likely same components.
Except maybe the starter issue on the earlier days and the uber soft spring.

The reverse gear is because of its design daw, something about the syncmesh. Didnt bother to check thoroughly as you can get away with it by using the above workaround.

its made in the philippines. the suppliers are just making it for the factory. wala naman sila R&D dito sa pinas.

    build to specs..

to be fair sa mitsubishi philippines, the 2014 g4 i own belonged to the batch imported from thailand. just want to clarify this. so i'm not sure if those units produced from the philippine plant have these issues.

is it because of "i wish it had more this-and-thats" ?
or is it because it really is a bad car?
