SP III is different from mercon or dexron specifications.... usually pajero uses the SPIII.. because Mitsubishi tranny differs in the way it lets some slip locking to occur... specially with electronically controlled transmissions...
the only fluid i know locally that has SPIII specs is the royal purple ATF.... although pricey at around 800 per liter...
The SPIII specifications requires Synthetic like to synthetic base oil for it to pass the standards...

July 29th, 2012 12:20 AM #13Pansin ko lang Sir, yung mga aftermarket ATF fluids which pass SP3 mga Fully Synthetic na ATF.
And these fluids can also be used as replacements to transmissions which require Dex 3.
Hindi kaya tama yung clerk na nagsabi sa akin na SP3 and Dex3 are the same? Synthetic lang ang SP3?
Kasi kung sa engine nga natin, pwede tayo mamili between mineral and synthetic.
Any mechanical engineers to enlighten us?haha.

August 28th, 2012 12:26 PM #14You might want to check Castrol Transmax Multivehicle ATF, Malaysian made. Saw one at Shoppers Variety at Cash and Carry Makati. I checked it out and it covers almost all OEM requirements including Mitsubishi Diamond SPIII except for CVT. They sell it for 330/liter

Castrol Transmax ATF is Diamond SP III rated sir.

Some casa uses Mobil 220 ATF pa nga.

September 23rd, 2012 10:24 PM #18By the way sirs, I already replaced our montys ATF with ENEOS DIII "Marcon" ATF (Marcon HAHA!).
Red sticker yung nasa harap ng bottle so easy to spot sa mga automotive stores.
However, hindi ko makita sa internet yung information regarding this, baka nagkaroon na ng repackaging or something.
Here is their website. Nagiisa lang yung ATF dyan.
http://www.eneos.ph/
For performance, gumanda shifting and I can vouch to it.
Before kasi, naeexperince ko yung rough downshifting, though medyo nawala siya before pa. Basta nag post ako nun sa thread na "Problems with the Montero Sport".
Price at ACE sa MOA is 340 per liter.

yan atf kasi ang buhay ng auto transmission, especially sa mitsubishi, finicky transmission nila especially those with the computer controlled... viscosity and base oil ang pinaka factor sa differences nang mga specs nila...

I have a Mitsubishi Galant 99 VR. Been using the DEXRON III eversince I bought it in 2007. That was 7 years ago. Ngayon lang ako naubusan ng ATF! Muntikan ko pa malimutan. Now I have the same dilemma but instead if DIAMOND ATP SP III, my manual states I use the DIA QUEEN ATF SP II. But I have never seen such a lubricant available in our Local Automotive SHops (pwera lang sa CASA which I know has double the PRICE!). But every seller told me its ok to use the DEXRON II or III. I am a little skeptical about it at first (mabuti pa nga yung saleslady mo dude at nasabi yung difference). Minsan nalilito pa nga ako sa specs ng DEXRON II or III because its the same lubricant we use I use on my POWER STEERING FLUID (ATF DEXRON or DEXRON II). Is this true?
Anyway in my 7 years of using DEXRON III (Havoline ata yung tatak) di pa naman ako nakakaranas ng anything sa Tranny ko. There is something creaking on the hood but it maybe beacuse of ball joint lubrication lang or more of sa suspension or cv joints rather than the AT itself. Anyway basta sa akin considering 2nd hand lang itong tsikot ko, oks n rin yung DEXRON III, tama nga siguro si SALESLADY mo when she says about the other being SYNTHETIC and the other is MINERAL.
Probably looks like a Coke sakto. Yes, where did you buy it?
