kahit kelan mas matipid at reliable ang EFI kesa sa carb. hindi naman normally nasisira ang computer box. ang carb nagbabara talaga. kaya nga obsolete na.
think of it this way: wala ka nang mabibiling brand new car na naka-carb

previous owner of a 92 singkit EL. got it in 2000, never ako tinirik 'til august of this year. sad to say hiwalay na kami ngayon.
air vents are indeed brittle, pero may nabibili sa el dorado. medyo pricey nga lang. aircon is mahina talaga. mahina in a sense na mahina yung fan. lamig, depends sa maintenance. pero cheap pa rin i-maintain aircon. pwede sanden 507 compressor sa singkit without changing the bracket. dashboard is real plastic. sidings madaling madurog, lawanit kasi ang loob. clips ng sidings mahirap na humanap. front suspension medyo kalampagin, pero very easy to maintain. parts are relatively cheap. sa case ko since carb siya, simple lang ayusin. pwede mo kalilutin mag-isa kung may alam ka. pwede rin kung pakialamero ka . comfortability (ride) is ok lang pero handling is great. ewan ko lang ha pero ganda kumapit sa curves ang lancer. lalo na yung lancer itlog. cyclone engine can give you 150kph kahit 1300 lang siya. and shared parts na rin sa engine with the itlog lancers so ok lang ang parts. dami pa surplus. i've run my EL nung year 2000 at 170kph sa old NLEX. sabi kasi ng previous owner kaya daw ng 170 max kaya sinubukan ko. kaya nga!
generally, a very good car. pero kung may konti pa budget, go for the itlog kahit EL. ganda body ng itlog, wala pa ko narinig na may rust problems sa itlog. maliban na lang siguro yung mga taxi.
when finding a singkit, check mo condition ng engine. most singkits are oil burners na based sa nakikita ko sa daan.

Hi, Previous owner of 92 Lancer GTi and 89 Lancer GL. GTi is 1.5l MPI, GL is 1.3L carb, manual pareho. GTI rides on 14in wheels, GL 13in.
Pros:
1. Comfortable ride
2. Maporma (GTi)
3. Fuel efficient (GL), GTi is a guzzler
4. Acceleration is good
5. Headroom is the best
6. Body is superb, kapal ng panels and never kinalawang
7. Cheaper parts
8. Nice seats on the GTi
9. low acquisition cost if you're bying now. Damn, that GTi costs almost 500K back then.
10. GTi is FAST! even if 1.5 lang.
11. GTI has cool features ex: telescopic and tilt steering, white meter gauge with rheostat, bucket seats on front, variable-int wiper, light-on buzzer etc.
Cons:
1. Very old cars
2. A/C vent levers easily get broken
3. The GTi's sterring wheel vibrates a lot when idling.
4. The ECU on the GTi retired on it's 5th year
5. The shifter feels like it's not properly hinged, you can swirl it around like mixing a can of paint with a stick.
6. GTi is a gas guzzler
Between the two:
- if your after practicality, get the 1.3 l version (GL or EL). less parts to maintain and quite fuel efficient.
- if you are after porma and nice features, the GTi it is.
IMO - get the GTi hehe
see my pahabol statement above. i mean, i can go on vacation anytime. but my spouse has her...
