    guys, tulong nman.. gusto kong bumili ng Lancer na singkit.
    either 91 or 92 model. and gusto ko sanang malaman yung mga pros and cons nitong ganitong kotse. at matipid ba ito sa gas? at nde sya magastos sa maintenance? alam kong luma na ito, pang college student lang ksi. =)

    ano nga po pla yung mga dapat kong i-consider inspecting pag tumingin ako ng Lancer na singkit? ang type ko sana yung itsura nung Gti eh.. pero ok din yung Glxi.

    Not to sound shallow but I really hate the way the airvents on the dash of that Lancer. They're too brittle and break easily. hehehe.

    All the usual used car buying stuff apply when checking out this model. I don't know if it has any particular weakness.

    I had one, it had so much problems I had no regrets selling it. Then again it was my first car, so baka naabusado ko rin hehe.

    Pro?

    Very light chassis, matipid if you take it easy.
    Cyclone engine said to be great.
    Love the seat bolstering, sarap sakyan.

    Con?

    Like Doc Otep said, air vents too brittle (see attached pic hehe)
    Shift knob felt vague, easily popped out of 1st gear.
    Very LITTLE room in the back, and the rear windshield doesn't help.
    Trunk is OK, medyo shallow nga lang dahil mataas yung pwet niya.
    Never was a fan of a 2 spoke steering wheel.
    Front chin is too low, parati sumasayad sa steep curbs. May subframe kasi siya right in the middle.


    Mine was 89 EL by the way, 1.3 lang yung makina.

    kasi ang balak ko sanang kunin is yung GLxi or GTi model eh.
    ano nga pala ang pinagkaiba nung dalawang yan? (GLxi at GTi)
    1.3 lang ba yang dalawa?

    GTi na lang. Yun yung singkit na may spoiler, chins tsaka side skirts. hanggang ngayon ang wafoo pa rin nyang model na yan. yung GLXi, wala.

    aside from what was stated here (suspension, auxilliary fans, engine supports, fan and timing belts, etc), also check the status of the aircon/compressor. yan ang medyo waterloo ng singkit models.

    consumption ng GTi/GLXi is around 8 kms/liter city and around 10 kms/liter highway.

    1600 cc po yan. yung EL variant ng singkit ang 1300 cc.

    Pards, check mo din iyong rubber nya sa may mga pintuan kasi may kaibigan ako ganyan ang sasakyan. Sila ang first owner. Pagdating nung mga year 2000 pag umulan eh tumutulo na sa loob ng kotse, dumadaan iyong tubig sa sides.

    yeah get the GTi model... mukhang sa era na yan maganda parehas ang GTi models ng Lancer at Galant... white or silver colors are preferrable

    pinaka da best singkit is the GTI parin.... silver GTI singkit for me..and STOCK!

    imho 1500 lang ang makina niyan hindi pa uso ang 1600 noon he..he

    yung mga 92 model chrome na ang grill tapos white panel ang instrumentation...all power na at sporty din ang seats...

    miss ko tuloy ang GTi ko

    malayo ang performance ng GTI kaysa sa GLXi singkit..kahit ba 1600cc lang un.. kung bitin sa power, 4g63t ang solution.

    Meron akong 1992 GLXi na singkit. Matibay naman saka reliable. Mga 3 years interval bago magkaron ng sira (ex. bushings, engine support, suspension, etc.). Sobrang tipid sa gas, more than 13 km/liter yung akin. 1500cc fuel-injected ang GLXi, maganda humatak, medyo torquey sya. Magaan pa manibela maganda yung power steering nya.

    Ang nakakainis nga yung aircon. Kahit maayos mo ng 100% mahina pa rin. Saka yung air-vents nung akin wala na nadurog na lahat. Wala pang mabili. Balak ko nga pa-convert na lang. Isa ko pang napansin pag lumagpas ka ng 100kph parang lumulutang na, siguro dahil magaan. Siguro pag lowered mas gaganda. Saka yung hood nya malambot masyado. Pag nakatukod parang tutupi halos.

    Pero all in all maayos na oto sya. Saka sa presyong 80-130k (current prices) wala ka na sigurong hahanapin dito.

    i thought 1600cc ang GLXi na 92 model??? i'm a previous owner of a 1992 GLXi...sabi nga nila, brittle ung bugahan ng aircon...walang prob sa makina and as far as i can remember, hindi ako pinahiya ng sasakyan na ito sa hatakan. (laking paninibago ko nung nakagamit ako ng 1200 hatchback ) ok lang ang gas consumption but then again year 1999 nung binili namin un.(PHP18/L ang unleaded noon) 2nd owner kami. maalaga ang 1st owner kasi brand new ang feel. smooth ride ito, un nga lang kahit stock ang shocks at springs mo e may sumasabit pa rin sa ilalim. hindi ko alam kung bakit. mejo masikip ang legroom sa likod. pero all in all maangas na ride.

    1.5L DOHC mpi ang GTI, GLX->1.6L sohc carb, GLXi->1.6L sohc injected

    afaik, lancer GTi, 4G15 SOHC carb ang makina. walang injected na lumabas locally para sa lancer singkit. yung EL and GLX ata carb din na 1300cc.

    ung mga nauna, yup all carb, but noon nilabas ang galant GTI, may lancer gti din, both DOHC MPI, sporty models.. i envy my HS classmate who owned one.

    afaik,

    Lancer GTi - 4G15 1500 SOHC EFi sinilip ko yung makina ng kaklase ko na ganyan yung kotse. yung Lancer GLX ay may carb and EFi variants din. later models received EFi pero yung mga nauna carb.

    Meron kami dati Black GTi. Maganda sana sya kaso nung magsimula magloko ng efi & servo nya e medyo sumakit na ulo namin. Kung nde siguro nagloko efi nun e nde namin un benta kasi maganda naman siya e.

    Sign na sira na ang efi nya: pag cold start mo e taas baba ang rpm, pag on mo ng aircon e nde tumataas rpm nya & minsan parang kinapos sya.

    Ung sa amin palit na ng servo kit & computer box sa casa e hindi pa rin naayos kaya binenta na namin.
