Mitsubishi PH to launch facelift Mirage G4 this month
Finally, Mirage got a facelift!
Still same engine.![]()
to mirage g4 owners,
may i ask you narrate your driving experience?
i am considering getting one, but i am afraid it might be as matagtag as my wigo, etc, etc...
i prefer one's experience, based on a longer time period, than the usual test-drive.
test drives are exciting times kasi, such that i tend to overlook the minuses and emphasize the pluses.
my personal experience (but I don't own one). Its too soft, as in sumasagad yung rear suspension if loaded with 5 adults with luggage.
I've read some suggestions to upgrade the rear suspension, kaso I don't want to make such upgrades on a brand new car.
I think it will work for me kung ako lang gagamit plus an occasional 2nd passenger.
Its not for me. (although I also find the Vios too sluggish)
*rented GLS CVT
Wow, must be a really bad driver. Sa Singapore dati, may rating sila na kailangan i-maintain to keep driving (I think 4.3), kaya bihira ako magbigay ng less than 5 stars.
*as a guy who grey up fixing his own car (ganun ako pinalaki)
yung M/T na Mirage uses a cable for its clutch. Not a big fan.
Understandable na underpowered ang 1200cc. Letdown nga iyong nag bottom ang suspension. Maganda KYB flex spring ang i install sa start sa factory.
As much as gusto i promote ang local production, mukhang mas okay ang Brio V as commuter.
Kailangan magbaon ng clutch cable kung ganoon.
I have the CVT hatch. Apart from the trunk space, it's practically the same as the G4.
Cons:
- Sluggish acceleration. It's normally not an issue but when you're in a convoy, medyo effort keeping up with the cars in front.
- Squeaky brakes if you leave it parked overnight after a car wash or rain. Not sure if this also happens in other cars though.
- Non-existent sound proofing lets you hear everything around you. It's like driving with the windows slightly open. Just imagine when it's raining.
- Stock springs are mushy most noticeably at the rear.
- Flimsy body panels. I have a dent on my door from a basketball. I have dimples on my roof from falling fruits.
- Weak AC.
- Steering is vague. Hindi bumabalik sa sentro ang manibela.
- Electric steering tends to overheat if you make too many quick turns while maneuvering in a tight space. Not sure if the same happens to other vehicles with electric steering.
Pros:
- Small turning radius. When others are making K-turns, you can make a U-turn.
- Fuel economy, low emission.
- Magaan ang manibela.
- Kayang umakyat ng Baguio :p
You lose power steering. Tumitigas nang sobra ang manibela. There's also a lamp on the gauge cluster that lights up when there's a problem with the steering.
Usually, you'd have to wait a minute or 2 for it to cool down and the warning lamp to turn off.
Happens when you make too many full turns of the steering wheel. Halimbawa pag yung driver hindi pa sanay sa parallel parking. But like I said, I'm not sure if overheating is true for all EPS.
first time ko narinig (nabasa) itong issue na to.
posted it here (Tsikot) and other forums.
Dec 2017 - Laguna to Subic/Clark (we crossed Metro Manila around 3am)
I rented a Mirage GLS CVT -> we were looking for a small car we can use while we're in Manila, I was considering the Mirage so renting it for a week will be a good test.
5 passengers with luggage. I was also trying to keep up with an Altis and Almera.
F/C for the entire trip... 7km/l, you also feel the terrible suspension when cornering.
Facelifted 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 launched, starts at PHP 769k
