You can also try Mickey's (google it for their location) That's where I usually go for a sound setup like what I've done with my previous ASX. Had the speakers changed with Polyglass and Pioneer subwoofer

this is "common" on some bnew units (even other car brands). Naamoy ko yun smell on my birit mode, not on high speed but high RPM (4-6k). Nawala yun amoy sa akin after namin mag fun-run sa tanay ni GH, my odo now is somewhere 1.8k.

    my two cents.

18k na kasi Odo ko at may time na nangangamoy pa rin sya pero hindi na kagaya ng dati na medyo malakas ang amoy.

Siguro, kailangan lang talagang makasama sa Tanay!
    How about Tagaytay?

I experienced the unpleasant smell also twice now after my first 1Km check. Was running at 100Kph when the smell came out of the aircon vents and diminished when i turned off the aircon. Have yet to advise Citimotors of this as i have read this case already and likely will have it checked this weekend.

I believe this is to lessen the load sa engine and to preserve your compressor (old skul practice?).

Case to case basis, ok naman siguro naka on ang ac for high speed/short burst. Yun tipong less than 5mins ka nasa 180kph++. Yung tropa ko before nakipaghabulan daw sa isang bagong oto sa sctex 190+ kuno speed nila, the next day sira compressor nya (15yr old car)

    Imho.

    Renzo
    : really nice color

    Dg1110 & skybison
    - im not sure if that was the color, because it was parked at the basement parking of gateway.. Maybe because of the lack of light, it had a dark blue hue to it.. Thought it was black but when i looked at it closely, the color was dark blue..

Nakailang instances na nagbababad ako over 140 KPH, hindi pa naman bumibigay aircon. Hindi dapat nagkakaproblema ASX niyo :D

Yup, ni-pm ko sya last month before my first fun run with him.

His reply was: "Yup, the burning fluids kind of smell. If you take your car on fast drives often enough it will fade away."

Wala pa namang reported problem sa aircon (still functioning well), naging suspect lang na source ng unpleasant smell, not only from ASX but from other brands/models too.

Ok naman siguro if you play along your ac during hi speed. Haven't tried yet with asx, sa monty nasubukan ko i-off while trying to get its top speed. No issue with the foul smell though.

Hi Johncsong, ipa deadening mo na din for better sound clarity/quality at magkaroon ng konting bass. I have mine replaced with acoustic vertus seps and JBL coax. Napadeadening ko na din and installed a sealed box base. I'm so happy with the result so far, wag lang mag iba ang level ng satisfaction ko when it comes to sound quality ;-)

AC compressors will be fine even if we drive at 180kph all day long.

Old school car with retrofitted aircon systems do not have a cut off to prevent over-speed. Also older cars tend to have weaker engines as compared to today. Turning off the compressor was an old school method of gain a few HP to increase the car's acceleration at higher speeds.
