Mga sir need advice. Im planning to buy a lancer ex 1.6 glx a/t. Its gonna be my 2nd car coming from a 2007 civic fd which was a hand me down from my brother last 2010. Is this still considered as an "upgrade"? The civic is a good car and it still looks good imo even with the new model around. Dilemma ko rin kung good buy pa ba tong lancer knowing that its been around since 2008. Baka pagkabili ko may bago nang labas. Mararandaman ko ba yung difference sa hatak? 1.8 kasi yung civic eh. 1.6 lang yung lancer. I really like the look of the lancer and im planning to install body kits to make it look like a sports car for a cheap price. The thing i like most about lancers is its rarity. Its not that its really rare but compared to other cars. Such as the vios and my very owns civic madami ako kapareho sa daan. Minsan lang ako makakita ng lancer and even if its a 2008 design, it feels new. Hindi nakakasawa. Maangas pa rin and head turner. The only alternative im considering is the elantra pero parang ayoko na talaga. Sobrang ganda ng itsura nya for the first couple of months pero ngayon nakakasawa na rin. And its also more expensive. Yung barkada ko nag elantra, 6mos pa lang kalampagin na pangilalim. Yung hga palang headers ng elantra at 1.6mivec parehong size pwede sa speedlab hotpipes headers.

sir GH, yun po bang DVD HU ng mx is ano pong brand at responsive po ba sya or parang yung mga china brands na nasabing touchscreen lang na mabagal?

AVT brand. It is the same brand used for other mitsubishi current cars with touchscreen. I would say it's response was average. GPS navigation was accurate and mapping features are better than what I currently have on my ASX.

regarding po dun sa hatak, I went to tagaytay po kasi last dec. 1 using a celerio with 5 passengers averaging 60kgs including me and dun po kami dumaan sa talisay road (if you are familiar) and sobra pong gapang ng celerio, literal na kelangan mo i-floor yung gas which scares me because of the weird sound, so kaya ko po natanung yung case kapag lancer.

The Lancer EX 1.6 has more power to play with than the Celerio. You''ll be blasting through inclines without a problem even with five people onboard.

If you have driven a Corolla or a Civic or a Sentra with a 1.6L EFI engine,... it's the same experience. As I have said before, the Lancer EX body is not heavy, it is the same as the corolla, or civic so the 1.6L has enough power to still make it fun.

a bit OT: bakit po kaya amoy sunog yung celerio ko? haven't experienced it with my other suvs? TIA

It could be a sliding clutch or toasted brake pads from too much abuse.

I think worth it ang price difference from GLX M/T to MX.. 778T ang GLX M/T with discount while 898T i think ang MX with discount.
So that's 120k..

yung auto aircon, colored mid, and i think pati yung hid with afs hindi pwede..nabasa ko sa mitsulancer forum na iba ang configuration ng wiring ng headlights ng glx sa mx/gta saka pati ecu config para maactivate yung afs..

we have a '96 sentra kaso super laspag na, what i am driving right now is an SiR, na medyo mahina sa steep inclines (ahon), i guess its the late torque peak? malaki po ba difference ng performance ng SiR at 1.6 EX MX?

Matic po yung celerio namin. naamoy ko lang siya yun nga when i tested it with my friends to tagaytay.

Dba1liter lang celerio? Malaks pa yata sa kanya mitsu mirage na pang city lang eh. Not a good reference for tagaytay climbing talagang igagapang ka nun pag puno.

Moving from a Civic 1.8 FD to the Lancer EX 1.6 GLX is somewhat a "sideways" movement because both cars are in the same class category (sub-compact sedans). As for the power of the 1.6L engine, obviously displacement equals power so the Civic 1.8 will have an edge but not too much. But if you put both in a drag race, the civic would pull ahead in a long straight. The advantage of having the MIVEC 1.6L is the balance of power and fuel economy.

Thank you for the input people. New question. How does the fc of the 1.6 lancer compare to the 2.0? Undecided pa kasi ako whether to get a 2nd hand 2.0 that is fairly new or the bnew 1.6. If significant ang difference sa fc, sigurado na ako sa 1.6. And since bnew theres no doubt about the condition of the car. TIA!

Get the 1.6 kung concerned ka sa fc sir. Yung 500 ko sa 2.0 las pinas-makati hindi umaabot ng 2days eh 15kms lang yun 1-way. Pero yung 1.5k na gas nakakabyahe ng balikan las pinas-nueva ecija (220kms two way) may sobra paipag hiway speed.
