its a 4 inline gas engine right?? does it still have a carb?? or is it EFI?
its a 4 inline gas engine right?? does it still have a carb?? or is it EFI?
v22,
yes, it has a carb pa.
odell,
yeah, thinking of converting it to diesel, the 2.8L with turbo hmmmm... the mechanic said it's an easy convertion. how "easy" it is, i don't know. expensive lang. like buying a W123 merc. anyway, i'll see if i can play around with the price.
thank you sa lahat!!! probably i'll sleep on it and tell you guys!
THANK YOU!!!
gen 2 nga... di ba underpowered sa 2.5 liter Gas?
well tawaran mo pa, upside niyan is full option yan (dubai eh) at masarap at tahimik gamitin.
Are you sure Dubai version yan? Our Pajero is exactly like yours kaya lang 1992 model, 4D56 turbo (no intercooler) ang makina at walang stock bullbar (tinanggal ng dating may-ari). Ex-ADB unit kasi yung amin kaya nakuha namin a couple of years ago for 450K lang.
bright side is... some 4d56 owners prefer the 4g54 engine! though its hungry on gas the engine is quite reliable..
it uses timing chain instead of belts... mine has logged 144Tkm ++ and the engine runs smooth and i never experienced any overheating problems other 4d56 owners complain about....
performance and reliablity AOK ang engine nyan... gas consumption lang talaga ang downside....![]()
madugo if you decide to go for the 2.8 4m40 motor. 100K up yun sa mga surplusan. IMO not worth it.
IMHO, hindi worth it magpalit ng makina just because mahal ang gas.
you have two choices: you either buy a diesel version or you could haggle for the price of the gas version.
yung masesave mo from the haggling, yun ang gagamitin mo pang-gas. hehehe
coz i don't think surplus engines are reliable (especially for those who doesn't want any headaches and downtime for their vehicle, lalo na pag daily driven yun). mas ok pa rin ang original.
keeping everything original also helps a lot in keeping the market value of the vehicle when the time that you need to sell it again.
i agree with tebs,
just go ang buy a local diesel variant. maTAKAW TALAGA ANG 2.6 GAS. that's it never clicked here. onlt the ex adbs got it. i think if u can get it at 375, pwede na din.
hey guys! i bought it na! brought the price down to 320K hehehe. since nagmamadali sya ibenta. will have it today.
sana maayos nga as he (seller) says it is.
thanks for all the replies, will update you as for the consumption... malamang matakaw nga.
wow laki ng natawad! dami ng pang gas!
so how is it??? adjustable suspension din ba? all power??![]()
v22,
i think it's all pawis. mostr 2.6 wagons i know are pawis. kung walang grabeng sira, i think it's a very good buy at 320k. atleast orig lhd.
Hello!
Power windows and steering lang, not the suspension. The seats are adjustable na din. Haha, brought it to Baler during the break. Ang sakit lang sa katawan driving it! Matagtag talaga. Wala naman akong reklamo sa suspension, it's just the ride. So i decided to give it to my wife and stick to my old car, hehehe...
Swerte nga, laki ng tawad!!! I guess the seller needed the cash talaga.
All of you are right on the dot when you said the consumption is not that good. 4.xxx to a liter. Ok na din vs. my other car which does 3 to a liter...
With the price, pwede na.
Yup, those have rear leaf spring suspensions... pwede remedyohan ng kaunti yung ride if you reverse the helper spring then add beefier aftermarket shocks. ;)
On the fuel consumption, you can try to:
- have your carb overhauled and tuned.
- Tune-up your engine
- Check/change all the filters (fuel and air)
- adjust driving habits.
I'm sure you can squeeze out around 6km/L with that, especially on the highway.
hehehe, more on the driving habits ata that I should change! the seller showed me all the receipts naman. all within last month. new shocks din, though not aftermarket.
what aftermarket shocks are there, all i know are bilsteins... who does the reversing of the helper thing on the leaf spring?

TIA![]()
yup.
beefier shock=stiffer shocks (but not necessary harshier)
bilstein and rancho top list pero ako gamit ko KYB Gas-Adjust at 850 a pop ok na.
kimpoy;
did you also reverse your helper spring?? won't this make the rear sag??
Hmmmp.... Medyo mahal sya considering na gas pa. Mababa resale value nyan. If your going to convert it naman to diesel it will be costly. A surplus 4D56 2.5 ITD is around 60K. Not sure ngayn kung tumaas na. If I were you look for a local version. Mas may porma pa. Or if low budget ka settle for Japan surplus. Just make sure na "A" OK ang pagkakaconvert.
