thanks for the reply! not the V6 man... although, if i get it, i might convert it to a diesel, again, i might... aside from the consumption, what else pa kaya?
If you plan to convert it to diesel, try to check first how much it'll cost you to do so... baka in the end it might be cheaper to buy a local 1994 model. ;)
My bet is that it's similar to those ex-ADB Pajeros... most came with 2.6L carb gas engines with rear leaf springs.
I know two people who drive this type of Gen 1 Paj - LWB, Flat-roof, 2.6l gas/carburated engine (4g54), orig LHD. Only issue they have with the rig is the gas consumption.
I think the one im getting is not the gen1, it's the model in between paj4x4's pictures... i also found an engine for it. it's 4M40T, it's 2.8L Intercooler Turbo (Diesel) and it's damn expensive! it's more than a hundred grand. however, i am considering it.
If you just save up a bit and take your time, you can find a local 1995 Gen 2 (yung OTEPajero) for 500K to 550K then set aside around anywhere between 20-50K for repairs/reconditioning. ;) I was tempted to change my pick-up for one a few weeks back as kaunti lang dag dag pero nanghinayang ako since my pick-up is much newer and in better condition, plus brand new nabili.
Usually those gas Pajeros na orig LHD with a flat roof are ex-ADB or ex-diplomat units. We had one before when my lolo was still with ADB (but yung intercooler version). Without the taxes and with the exchange rate that time, it cost 400K-500K++ brand new if i'm not mistaken.
We almost got a 2 door version of that for around 450K... 1995 model (w/ 1998 plates). That was three years ago.
If you decide to get the unit in question, my advice is kaunting tawad pa. ;)
