Both this school and the movie theater shootings were via legally obtained guns.
Wait and see if Obama will be able to provide the political will to do some changes, to put a stop on these senseless killings.
For our country, both responsible gun owners, and non gun owners should agree to fix this corruption in the country's gun control.
One way maybe is to hold the dealer and psycho test conductor, criminally liable, if the person they sold the gun to / psychologically cleared for gun ownership, performed a criminal act with the gun they acquired through them?

Interesting comparison. There's also an attack in a school in China today. But due to strict gun control, the psycho only attacked with a knife. No deaths, but only serious injuries,,,
Hong Kong (CNN) -- On Friday morning, a man walked through the entrance of an elementary school and, without warning, began ruthlessly cutting down children at the school. Before he was subdued, nearly two dozen were hit.
While it sounds like the horrific massacre in Connecticut, this attack took place about 8,000 miles away in central China. And while several of the victims were reported in critical condition, none of the 22 children were killed. The 36-year-old suspect in China -- which has strict gun control laws -- attacked the children with a knife, according to local reports.
"The huge difference between this case and the U.S. is not the suspect, nor the situation, but the simple fact he did not have an effective weapon," said Dr. Ding Xueliang, a Harvard-educated sociologist at the University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong.
"In the United States, we had 9,000 people killed with guns last year, in similar countries like Germany 170 (killed with guns), in Canada 150. There's a reason for that," Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, told CNN's Piers Morgan.
"The proof in the pudding is that in every other industrialized nation except the United States, they have reasonable gun control laws, and they have hundreds of people killed each year -- not 9,000 or 10,000 a year -- killed by guns."
The United States has, by far, the highest rate of gun ownership in the world, with 88.8 guns per 100 people, followed by Serbia (58.2), Yemen (54.8) and Finland/Switzerland (45.7 each), according to GunPolicy.org, an international database at the University of Sydney.
While nations such as South Africa, El Salvador and Thailand have much higher rates of gun homicides per year, the United States rate of 3.12 deaths per 100,000 people is the highest among industrialized nations.

This probably is one of the best lines I've ever heard. It makes so much sense and would make you think if it really is safer to have a gun.
"If someone gets into your house, which would you rather have, a handgun or a telephone? You can call the police if you want, and they'll get there... and they'll take a picture of your dead body. But they can't get there in time to save your life. The first line of defense is you."

Glad that video I linked made sense. Anti-gun people just don't get it. Next thing you know, we might as well ban kitchen knives.
Point is, there will always be a psycho out there who don't give a sh*t about the law. Gun laws don't make them any less dangerous. In fact, they become more dangerous because you make ordinary citizens unarmed.
Notice how these killings almost always occur in a gun-free area. You don't hear massacres happening in a gun range because people there are responsible, law abiding citizens.
But guess what happens when there's civilian response:
On Sunday, December 9, 2007, at about 1 p.m. Murray, armed with a semi-automatic rifle and two pistols, entered the foyer of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs and fatally shot two and wounded three others before himself being shot and wounded by Jeanne Assam, a former sworn Minneapolis police officer and a church member acting as security. Murray then took his own life.
The shooting
At about 1 p.m. MST (20:00 UTC), 30 minutes after the 11 a.m. service had ended at New Life Church, Murray opened fire in the church parking lot shooting the Works family and Judy Purcell, 40. Murray then entered the building's main foyer where he shot Larry Bourbonnais, 59, hitting him in the forearm. At this point, Assam opened fire on Murray with her personally owned concealed weapon. Police say that after suffering multiple hits from Assam's gun, Murray fatally shot himself.
Assam later stated that "God guided me and protected me [and I] did not think for a minute to run away."
The pastor of the church stated that Assam shot Murray before he entered 50 feet (15 m) inside the building, after she encountered him in the hallway, and that Assam probably saved "over 100 lives."
Following the shooting spree, Colorado Springs Police Department officers searched the church campus looking for suspicious devices. Colorado governor Bill Ritter ordered state authorities to help investigate. The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also came to the site to assistDamn, son!
