In reality, more gun control = more crime. It means innocent civilians are just more likely to be defenseless. It's the law abiding citizen who are at a disadvantage because law breakers don't care about gun laws. You can't expect the police to protect you all the time.
Perfect example is Switzerland. Everybody has Sig SG550 series of rifles.
