    Feedback? Recommendations? Alternatives?
Have 2 similar to that. The .80 and the 2HP. Both quiet and cools fast. I connect it to my LG app on the phone so we can control even if we're away. Let's say coming home and it's very warm, turn it on on the way para malamig na pagdating sa condo.

    i think,
because of technology, the standards have changed (shrunk).
    same hp, smaller dimensions.
done purposely "because they can and for cheaper manufacture" (smaller volume, less metal, less expense), and probably to fit the smaller homes', offices', and condoes' dingdings and windows.

How about serviceability and long-term reliability? How old are your units? Do you clean them yourself? Have they developed or are they starting to develop issues?

Back story: I'm buying for my brother because their first baby is on the way. With the baby at home, they'd probably keep the A/C running 24x7 or close to it. I have an LG 2.5HP inverter split that we run, on average, 15 hours a day. It's been reliable for the last 3+ years. I just don't know if the window type from LG is any better, worse, or if it's just the same.

Units have been 2 years old. Bought them early 2019. So far the only thing that was needed was the usual cleaning which I didn't bother asking LG to do since we have our suki for decades already. My only gripe is that the smaller one, when being cleaned, you need to remove the whole unit as it has no frame unlike the usual window type wherein there's some sort of frame first placed in the hole then you screw it and then just push the whole unit into the frame. The smaller of the 2 LG units doesn't have that. It's just directly pushed into the hole in the wall. The bigger one has a frame. So far no issues encountered. You get a red light also when the filter needs some washing as it has it's own hourly count of being in operation so XX number of hours = red light and you need to wash the filter. Can't compare with an LG split type since all of the AC in our condo are window type so can't say if better, worse or the same. Oh and the vents don't have an auto swing if you're looking for those.

    Very helpful info. Thank you.

Apparently, this model (1.5HP) also has a one-piece body, in that, the outer shell is screwed on to the base. Not a big deal.

The A/C functions more as a dehumidifier. It does so by keeping the blower at its lowest setting. Used mostly when the room is humid but the temperature is otherwise cool.

Yes, via the LG app. May schedule option that you can set the time it turns on and off and if you want it only on specific days or daily

That app from LG can also be replicated by buying ir-based remote control device such as sensibo.
Basta supported lang yung remote control niya.
Yun nga lang, you need to pair the device sa aircon model mo to make it work and dapat naka connect sa wifi yung device.

Ang hina ng LG 1.5hp inverter ko ngayon, at around 8pm, we run it at full blast, high fan and 16c, mga 1 hour bago maging comfort cool level, before we can turn it down to low fan and 22c, room is 20 sqm, is it the heat? It's just 7 months old.

is your room insulated against external heat?
baka naman kasi, your aircon is cooling not just the air, but the walls and ceiling as well.
one won't get the air in the room cool enough, until the walls first cool down.
it takes a lot of time to cool the walls.

also, if i am not sure,
i'd see if the aircon needs cleaning.
    after 7 months...

would you remember the EER number?
baka mas maganda ang EER ng dating aircon?

Naku sinabi mo. Normally set to 24 deg C lang ang aircon namin pag gabi. Last night 22 ang setting pero medyo mainit pa rin.

Try checking the condenser side, it could be dirty like this:

Just remove this cover and spray water, avoiding directly hitting the motor fan. Cleaning this can help, even a little.

If any cleaning maintenance was done before, and they removed the evaporator, there's a chance that the refrigerant has leaked.

EDIT: I saw that it's only 7 months old. It could be the heat. I think recommended cleaning interval is 6 months. You can try to have it cleaned and see if there's improvement.

Sa walls nga siguro doc, I was wondering na itinago ko na nga sa direct hit ng sun ang room namin, but then I just realized now, this time of year, sapul pala ung isang side, that explains why I thought my daughter's room ac is cooler.

Bro Ninj, sakto lang sa size ng room kasi mula ng mag move kami dito last October, masaya na kami sa 24c, until this month, I guess we just have to pre cool the room an hour before.

Thanks for your thoughts guys [emoji4]
