May 21st, 2018 10:18 AM #141Me too. I follow this guide by Tekinex posted in Pinoyhandyman
Another concern i need to discuss. About the capacity. We only know capacity as 1hp 1.5hp etc. But are you aware of how do we know if its 1hp just from looking at it? It happened just now, one of our costumers said that their a/c unit is 2.5hp because they ordered it. But when we checked the aircon we found out that it is only 2.0hp. Let me share to you how to know your a/c capacity
2 ways. First is by calculation of Btu. There is an indication in the box or in the aircon unit about cooling capacity. For you to compute the capacity, you have to divide the Btu by 9,000. If that is not exact you should round off or approximate. Example btu is 11,000, divide it by 9,000 and you will get 1.22... Approximately its 1.0hp. And if you get something like 1. 73 its probably 1.5hp 1.76 it will fall for 2.0hp. And so on
Second is by the model of a/c unit also found on the box and a/c units. For example the model of the ac unit is HSN12IST the 2 or 3 digit number in the model is the average btu. Divide it by 9. In this model (LG), 12 is the number indicated. Divide it by 9 you will get approximately 1.5hp. Another is CS/U-S24SKQ (Panasonic) 24 is the number divide it by 9 you get approximately 2.5 hp. (not all brands have the same model number indication it is not advisable. Like daikin. To be sure base it on btu)Â*
Note: Hp (horsepower) is different from Tr (tonner) 3hp is different from 3tr. Remember that hp is btu divide by 9,000. In Tr its btu divide by 12,000.
(3tr = 4hp =36,000btu)
I'll post another guides probably tomorrow. I'll be discussing probably the brands or type of aircon.

It seems this is consistent with this model, HS 24IST. So 24/9 is 2.5 hp. The cooling capacity is 22,683 kJ/h. I have forgotten the conversion factor and I'm a bit lazy to look for it so I don't know if the result is the same.
I remember this rule of thumb about basic power requirements for air conditioning units, 1 hp for every 15 square meters. This doesn't apply if you have a mezzanine or the walls are made up of glass or you have other heat sources not found normally in your house. In this case, an engineer should do the computation.
I wonder if there's a rule of thumb that is expressed in cubic meters, that should make easier estimates.

May 24th, 2018 02:14 PM #144Bumili ako ng 1HP Window Type Inverter two weeks ago. Kolin ang brand, price nya sa mall is around 26k nakuha ko sya ng 22k sa isang agent sa OLX. COD ang mode of payment then delivery is around 410 pesos (kasama na ref and topload washing machine). Sealed ang mga products upon delivery tapos may receipt then kasama warranties and contact numbers if may problema. Alam ko may discount pag cash sa mall pero kaya ba nila mag less ng ganyan ka laki? All in all around 10k rin nasaved ko. So far okay naman, satisfied naman ako sa performance nya, waiting nalang for the bill and check if magkano consumption nya. hehe

Of course cash has the biggest discount.
Anson’s ortigas center ako usually bumibili

Interesting thread—really important to consider the broader impact of the National ID Law beyond...
