What's the worst collision or crash you've seen right before your eyes?

-How many vehicles were invloved?
-From your own point of view, how did it happen?
-Casualties?
-Where did it happen?

1. 80s Toyota Hilux Single Cab 4x2 against the Coconut tree
2. Rear ended Volkswagen Beetle against a passenger jeepney
and lastly
3. Honer Type Jeep against a stopped passenger jeep.

1. Rainy season, right after Bocaue tollgate an Elf truck open bed and no cargo. Mag-isang nag 720 degree turn, buti na lang walang katabing sasakyan kundi dinamay nya. Pagkatapos nun hintuan kaming halos kasunod nya. Nakita ko yung driver nagmukhang tisoy na puti sa pamumutla.

2. Summer, San Pablo City. Pauwi na ko ng Manila from our province. Dala ko Tamaraw FX, we were running 20km/h on a busy highway. Biglang preno yung matandang driver ng Civic sa harap ko. Ayun, salpok! Wasak rear compatment, rear bumper nya nalagas. While I suffered a busted radiator going home. After 8 years, may dumating na sulat dinedemanda ako ng damage fee amounting to Php 120,000. Anak nang tokwa... nabenta na yung sasakyan tsaka pa lang ako dedemanda!

2 vehicles + 5 vehicles
1st nagkaroon ng accident sa kabilang lane (2 buses), so itong nasa lane namin bumagal dahil sa mga usiserong drivers. dahil umuulan, tapos 2am pa, nagkaroon ng 3 vehicle collision. kami yung 4th vehicle, meron bumangga sa likod namin kaya tumama din kami dun sa 3rd vehicle. delivery truck pala ang sasakyan ko nun.

Bigla daw namatay ang makina so huminto sa left lane. Yung American na naka-Corolla malayo yung distansya nakapag-break ng maaga so wala collision.

Tapos me isang Hilander na biyaheng Balagtas-SM West na biglang sinapul yung Corolla sa likod.

Lakas ng tama! Nahati yung radiator ng Hilander na nagmukhang snub-nose. Naging hatchback at napango yung Corolla. Naging hatchback din yung City.

Buti na lang naka-seatbelt si Mrs. at yung Kano. Yung mga 3 nakasakay sa harap ng Hilander nasipaguntugan sa windshield na buti na lang hindi nabasag.

At ang driver ng Hilander sinisi pa si Mrs. at yung Kano sabi daw niya,"E bakit daw sila huminto?!?!".

Sabi nung Kano, "The lady in front of me was having some sort of a car problem so she stopped so I also stopped my car but you keep on running. Havent you know word Distacia Amigo?"

When we had a 360 degree turn on a busy SLEX! I was seating in front and my brother-in-law was driving. Nawalan ng control yung corolla nya. Luckily medyo malayo distansya nung truck sa likod at hindi kami sumalpok sa katabing bus. Kaya lang ganun pa din, we hit the island so total wreck pa din ang kotse. The good thing is that all four of us came out unscathe.

When my CRV had a head on collision with a truck. Got out unscathe too!

When I was a kid and we were hit by a military 6x6 truck on the side and we had a 720 sommersault. Luckily again, we went to a swamp, so just a little bump on my head kasi nga nagsommersault yung car.

marami na!

1. east avenue quezon city, 1am. 5 of us were in a ford escort coming from UP (lantern parade nuon, 1986) going to timog (going to watch the other parade hehehe!) this taxi was coming from near the pldt building there, just after QC city hall. he stopped, then he moved forward a bit. di na kami naka-iwas, BAM! the escort turned 270 degrees. so baba kami, inspected the damage. tanggal bumper ng taxi, escort ng friend ko was hit sa rear left. tawag ng pulis yung taxi driver saka 2 friend ko. naiwan kami 3. i was sitting on the rear left seat with doors open, feet on the ground while my 2 friends were standing by the side. eto na po! 2 head lights coming very fast! POW! a mercedes benz just hit the left rear of the ford escort, just managing to swerve in time to avoid killing us 3! the car which i was sitting on disappeared from under my ass and settled 1-1/2 meters away! we ran to the mercedes benz and asked him if he was Ok, Ok naman daw. "wala kayo hazard lights kasi, on nyo pare" was all he said. so we looked at the damage to his car, then he suggested to look at the damage to the escort. i volunteered to watch over his chedeng as there were already street people milling about. while they were looking over the escort, 2 head light beams appeared again! it was a nissan bluebird! THUD! 2 of my friends were sideswiped and fell towards the center island. another THUD! and the mercedes driver was sommersaulting in the air but holding onto the nissan's wheel well. THUD! and one more of my friends (he had just arrived from the police station)was hit squarely by the nissan, he hit again on the windshield then went flying 10 feet into the air! the nissan kept on going, and now the mercedes driver was UNDER the car!!! he was holding on to the wheel well (tapalodo) for dear life, he was shouting! "aaaahhhaaaaaa!!!" while sparks were flying from under the nissan's belly! i was already running at this time, thinking that my 2 friends will probably be alright, my other friend probably dead and i need to help the mercedes driver out from under the nissan! the nissan finally stopped, the mercedes driver got out from under the nissan by himself and the amazing thing was he started jumping and laughing "buhay ako! buhay ako! hahahahaha! buhay ako! hahaha!!!" so sabi ko sa sarili ko, "buhay ka pala e di hindi na kita titignan". i went to my friend, the one that got hit squarely by the nissan. he was sitting on the pavement, there was something funny with his posture. i tried to touch him to ask if he was alright but he waved my hand away. "wag nyo ko gagalawin!" then he pointed to his legs, which was broken and the bone was sticking out! my 2 other friends crawled to where we were, and we hugged our friend with the broken leg. then i remembered, "ambulance!" i got up and started running towards the phil heart center hospital. it was just maybe 200 meters away. i saw the entrance, i saw the guard. he tried to stop me, maybe he thought i was being chased by someone. i rammed through him and he fell to the ground. i arrived at the emergency, natutulog yung doctor! "doc! doc! aksidente! dyan lang sa may kanto, ambulansya! kelangan namin ng ambulansya!" sagot yung doctor, nag-aalis pa ng muta sa mata nya, "ha eh heart cases lang kami dito, dun ka sa kabila sa east avenue." aaaaghh! he had not even finished talking when i barged out of the door again, running toward east avenue medical center. the guard who had tried to stop me earlier was at it again, he was blowing his wistle and blocking my path. WRONG MISTAKE MR GUARD! blam! he fell again as i ran right through him and back to the street! i ran to east avenue medical center entrance. another guard! but this one must be wiser, since instead of stopping me he pointed to the emergency. again i barged into the emergency room and startled all the nurses and doctors! all i could do by now is say in a very weak voice "aksidentehhhh" pointing to where the accident was with my finger. "dyan lang malapit, sa may city hall". then i collapsed under some table. i saw (or rather felt!) them running, sirens wailing, then i passed out.

next thing i knew my friends were coming out of the ambulance, the badly hurt one on a stretcher. it was still all a blurr, the oxygen level in my head was still way too low for things to make any sense. i decided to pass out again...

then i saw this white skirt with legs so white (the stockings!), walking pass me. i was under a table or something. it passed me again. i was able to grab it this time. "aaaaaayyy!!!" sigaw yung nurse haha! then they all started laughing! "ay sorry ha, nakalimutan ka namin andyan ka nga pala" so i crawled out from under the table which turned out to be an examination table, still tugging at the nurse's skirt. she was laughing, i was gasping for air. she was very beautiful (must be the lack of oxygen but i can still remember her angelic face) and all i can say to her was "tubig, pahingi ng tubig". that was probably the best tasting water i have ever drank in my whole life, water given by an angel!

1 hour later i was beside my friend, the one that got hit squarely. my 2 other friends were there too, first aid cases, just bruises. the mercedes driver was also there, helping give moral support. but we were laughing again! you know why? kasi po there was this korean guy, a foreign news correspondent, on the next table with a gunshot wound in his buttocks, telling us the story how he got shot. he was taking pictures when some guys asked him to join them to drink gin. after he drank with them, they asked him to pay for the drinks. he did not want to give them his wallet so they shot the wallet, while it was still in his pocket!

18 years later, we would still roll on the floor with laughter whenever we remember that episode of our young lives!

2. on I-95 in Texas travelling from LA to Chicago, 8pm at night, 60 mph takbo (55mph speed limit sa Texas). magisa lang ako sa Supra ko. i was following this red ford escort (ford escort na naman!), and there was a texas highway patrol behind me. then we came upon this 18-wheeler, syempre mabagal yun at 50 lang speed limit nila sa gabi so we overtook it. overtake ang escort, then went back to the right lane. overtake ako, kumarera yung 18-wheeler but i passed him at 70mph or something. then tail gate yung 18-wheeler sa akin, siguro 1 meter lang behind me tapos high beam siya. e yung texas highway patrol overtake din, 80 mph na takbo namin. so ang situation, nasa harap ko yung ford escort, sa right ko yung highway patrol, behind me naman yung 18-wheeler. since speeding na kami lahat at tail-gating pa yung 18-wheeler, the highway patrol car started flashing his lights and sounded his siren. ayun na po, yung escort nataranta na, biglang preno! masa-sandwich ako! tingin sa harap, the escort's wheels were smoking, nag lock na yata ang brakes. may bridge pa about 100 meters in front! di rin ako pwede sa right, andun ang car ng highway patrol. turned on the hazard lights, down-shift ako, labas ako sa shoulder with the gas pedal floored to the metal! as i went to the shoulder "KA-BLAM!", the 18-wheeler hit the ford escort and it sort of lifted into the air. i move my eyes to the front kasi alam ko andyan na yung bridge. who will reach it first, me or the out of control escort?!!! e few meters before the bridge i overtook the escort which was now flying in the air due to the collision, kabig ako sa left, hail mary pass bahala na kung tamaan ng ford escort! better be hit by the escort than to go flying down the bridge! nakalusot ako, still had the pedal to the metal, i do not know my speed as the '84 Supra I was driving had only a speedometer up to 90 mph, the needle was beyond that now. the escort finally "touched down" a few feet behind me, the 18 wheeler was now burning his brakes and the highway patrol car was behind us already, having stepped on his brakes early.

i stopped after the bridge (it was quite a long bridge, mga 150meters siguro.) i pulled over to the shoulder and went out of my car to see if i can help. i started walking back to where the ford escort landed. luckily, the driver and passenger both women were unharmed but shaking heavily and crying. one of the highway patrol guys already had the 18-wheeler driver spread eagled on the pavement, putting the cuffs on when i got there. his partner (a lady cop) asked me if i was OK, i said i was. after 15 or so minutes, the lady cop told me i could go. whew! i hardly had any sleep when i stopped at the hotel that night. everytime i closed my eyes there would appear the ford escort being hit by the 18-wheeler, the escort flying in the air, then the bridge! actually all images just flashed backed again as i was typing this post!
