if i were gonna join a startup i'll look for one that has many big investors backing them
sigurado they're generous coz they're burning cash
kung sweldo ang pag uusapan di lang big established companies ang kaya mag sweldo nang malaki
well-funded startups can also match big companies' pay
may equity pa
so if the startup makes it big that equity will translate to millions $$$
Yeah maraming galing sa company namin na lumipat sa Uber when they set up shop here. Although when we say startup, puro mga international startup naiisip ko.
Out of curiosity, what are the local startups that pay better than established multinationals?

So true! My Dad worked for a company owned by a Spanish Filipino family. He had so many benefits at department head level. He had a "staff house" near the plant, company cars, bonuses etc. Whenever they will get rid of stuff, mauna una na lang sa pagkuha (sofas, cabinets, tables, computers etc). LOL! I can go to my Dad's office and hang out there anytime too. You can NEVER do those in a multinational AFAIK.
I took my course specifically because I wanted to work with my Dad (my Dad took over my Lolo's position). Gusto ko kasi 24/7 kasama ko Daddy koHe did not want because he wanted me to work in a multinational corporation
When I started working in a multinational I was so surprised how everything was so structured unlike what I was used to seeing growing up in my Dad's company.
Pareho pala department head Dad ko and crush![]()
Yeah they've been around for quite a while but they do have that startup vibe. I'm not updated with the company but I was surprised that their stock price dropped from a high of P15 two years ago to under 4 pesos today.
This new gig though isn't for a startup, just got curious about local startups since my impression is that it isn't at the same level as Silicon Valley startups yet.
Feeling ko mas malaki pa kita sa koprahan, quarry, etc kaysa sa local tech startups, or maybe that's just what's common here in the province.

Technically foreign startups like Uber are also multinationals being that they are present in multiple countries, so I tend to bunch them all up together.
Got an Uber offer a while back. They're also very active in campus recruitment and my friends who work there actively promote their openings on social media. They operate a lot like a true multinational in that sense.

You should look for MNCs setting up their shared service organizations here or doing a fresh KT. Being part of the pioneer team gives you the opportunity to grow with the company and catching the top positions. Plus the perks of traveling to migrate processes to PH. I have seen CVs where they led the process migration and ended up directors with minimum salary of P400K/month + perks.
Caveat: With the impending TRAIN2, the investors are on a wait and see before deciding to invest.

My work experience isn't aligned with shared services bro. Hindi ako IT/accounting/finance eh. [emoji17]
And kung corporate lang din nga, I think mas maganda na magstay muna where I am right now. If I were to stay corporate, the plan really is to stay for the next decade before opening myself up to piracy again.

Yup. My uncle who recently passed away sells puno ng niyog when he wants to buy a new car or make a big purchase. I forgot how much pero mahal din isang puno. The rest of the year he just waits for money from harvest. He also supplies fruits in malls etc. Every weekend nasa market he sells also.
Tawag niya sa sarili niya tindero but he earns better than suit wearing VPs in Makati or BGC. No need to wake up early pa. Lol.

For that guy since nag startup siya from scratch, it's really more of being able to be your own boss (not only do you need to fulfill your own responsibilities, but you have to give yourself your own responsibilities and prioritize them well din, also which to delegate away and when), whereas sa established corpo medyo set na rin yung responsibilities ng role na papasukan ng tao..
Yung sa kaibigan ko, he is the country head here, the HR, dabbles in sales, ops and accounting at the same time. Needless to say you really have to want it to be successful as a startup. It helps if marami kang kasama who are willing to put in the time and effort din.
With your company right now, there are really few places that are better. Haha. Pwede na if/when one of the 'better' ones call ;)

Ayala, Jack Ma firm launches purchase-by-scan system | Inquirer Business
cannot ignore China tech

i'm also watching Alibaba
not only Alibaba
i'm also watching Tencent
ginu-good time lang ni Jack Ma sa digital payment system na yan ang mga Ayala. besides, the best payment pa din credit card using paywave, kasi utang. eh dyan kelangan me laman account mo
I think I have an idea what Jack Ma is really doing here, and it has to something about Fulfillment. ayaw ko na mag-reveal, kasi halos 3 buwan ko din inaral ang Fulfillment. pero para sakin yan ang totoo agenda.
yes fulfilment center. pero ewan ko kasi madaming maysakit na klepto dito satin. case in point whats happening to our airports when they hire contractual baggers and loaders
and also more fulfillment centers mean so many large malls will close down. aalma mga Philippine tycoons nyan kay Jack Ma
