Too much caring will give you more dissapointments.

^^^ I have worked for a long time with one of the biggest global consulting companies. I left after realising that I’m only as important to them as my “billability”.

    Yes it is, bro.

Before, it was Industrial Management Engineering with minor in either Chemical or Mechanical Engg
We are still baffled why it is called only as IE now. I was guessing now that it was because ADMU is recognized as the CoE by CHEd for ME.

Wifey is a graduate of that course in Tough. And so the orientation and demo classes were closer to her heart... OR, Finance-RoE showing the "value of leverage" and Marketing...

Cris Tiu and Gretchen Ho were graduates of ME
Profound respect for both especially for the brain and beauty...

    Yes. Bakit kaya?

Like MFI, they can use sophisticated names for some courses pero why can't they invent some fancy name for IE. Haha

Once I have a full view of what's on the table, that's when I decide whether to stay or go. But if I take it, it's bye bye corporate forever, so it has to be worth it. [emoji4]

Bro, just don't get trapped in a job that you're all too familiar with. Keep on checking out and climbing another summit...

It's good now because resignation benefits typically start after tenure of five years....

^ this is actually quite profound.

Daming nag open up na opportunities sa North because of this.

Ever since owning a seiko, i've been telling my friends to get a seiko if they ask me for watch advices. Hahaha

I am starting to sound like a seiko salesman.

it's our late relative's birthday and one of his grandsons fb messaged me of the lolo's pic with my late dad. they were very good friends.

suddenly, i miss my dad. he would have surely gone crazy had he met his apo from me.

Actually bro there's still so much to learn with my current job and industry. I don't feel any sense of boredom whatsoever because there's so much more ahead of me.

It wasn't like my old job that felt like a dead end even if they offered me a promotion 5 years earlier than expected. Took a leap of faith and started from scratch with my current job and it was worth it.

    Kaya nakakapanghinayang umalis...

Good question bro. The big risk really is that I will be closing the corporate door if I take this other gig. And that's a big opportunity cost because modesty aside, I think I can carve out a pretty good corporate career. Of course the flip side is that at the end of the day - as Cathy says, these suit-wearing corporate heads still don't earn as much as medium-sized entrepreneurs.

True that. If I could make a living out of just selling copra or niyog from my farm, I'd happily live out the rest of my years traveling and learning about other cultures.

At the end of the day naman, it's the money that counts. Money you can enjoy during your retirement. Not the recognitions or plaques you earned with your company.

So yeah, if you think you can earn more sa new opp, then why not?

    i know this person.
he was earning very well, but he wasn't happy.
so, he went back to school, in a field vastly different from his first field.
now, he's earning a huge lot more, and he's very happy.

Personally it's not money that's number one. I value intangibles more.
