Property definitely. There are many ways to get a good education for your kids, scholarships are abundant for the deserving. But land will not get cheaper and good lots in urban areas are running out.
Also, having your kid grow up in a conducive environment will give her a boost in the future.

Go for the property. Schools are branching out nowadays. There are a number of "manila" or "qc" based universities that already have campuses in other parts of the metropolis.

May 25th, 2016 03:38 PM #8424Yes is go for the property investment as well. Property prices are crazy so lock it in while you can. And as you said, it's a positive change of environment. As for the future educational needs of your child, if there's a will there's a way.

May 25th, 2016 03:43 PM #8425Thinking about the " 7 - 12% service charge" on restaurants.
Imo, this shouldn't be allowed or practiced. I'm not being cheap but come on it's too much! if they would impose it, it should be limited below 5%.
I'm just saying... P400+ charges on a P4k+ food bill. You can already fill up almost 15 liters of diesel.
Also the fact that we've already paid for their marked up food that should be enough.

It's tacked on as part of the cost of your meal so, when you think about it, there's nothing illegal about it.
10% is about right. Anything more is a bit on the high side and probably involves fine dining in a hotel. In other countries, servers work for tips only and don't get regular salary, so they depend on these charges.
But, it's not to say a customer doesn't have the right to complain if he is dissatisfied with his server's manner of service. In fact, I had the unfortunate experience of requesting that the service charges be removed due to the waiter making us wait 30 minutes for the bill to arrive.
The manager or owner, I don't recall anymore, removed the charge from the bill.
