I didn't think it was funny at the time. No sleep. Backbreaking work. Stranded for a couple of days until the snowplows cleared the road.
It became funny later like now when I'm stuck in the sweltering desert heat.At least there are beaches nearby in the PH. Here? It's either swimming pools or A/C. I can't wait for cooler November-April weather.
My youngest kid enjoyed winters in NY. Of course, she never had to shovel snow. Now? She's old enough. My wife and eldest daughter hated it.
The only good thing about harsh winters is we can't go to work (or home) if the roads are closed. It's not unusual for the last person on shift to spend a couple of days stuck at work. There's actually a kitchen, two bedrooms, and a full bathroom for such things.
