MC and VISA. Some countries only "prefer" one of the 2. If you have a dollar account request a BDO-AMEX which you can you use to buy in USD and pay in USD. No worries on FC swings.

I have a friend who used to work in Citi, and he told me that there was only one case in the country where a person used his cc to purchase a vehicle... That was over ten years ago, and so may have changed....

My cards credit limits, individually, will not be able to buy an SUV....

My 5 cards can yield me 1 montero sports if I pursue it. The technique is to take advantage of the cash facility. Ive been contemplating on doing this since, pero kasi aaprove naman ako car loan sa bank eh so syempre mas maliit at mas fixed ang interest.

Some are free for life ... they offer these to those with large bank account balance ... also earns points faster and they have better reward offers ... Black cards supposedly have no credit limit ...

Used to have just 1 card ... now have 2 cards ... one for personal ... another for re-reimburses ...

Cash back cards are good ... 5% rebate for grocery ... 4% for fuel ... 3% for utility bills ... 2% for dining ... 1% for shopping ... Security Bank ... max of 1000 cash back per month ...

Bragging rights(?) ... and better for the one who clones your card ... usually ask the bank to lower my credit limit and they wonder why ... one can always ask for temporary increase of credit limit when the need arises ... like when going on vacation or making a large purchase ...

Bawal ba debit card or cheke pag sa hospital?

Debit card is accepted ... what you can do is have separate accounts for your debit card and main savings account for protection ... just leave 5,000 or so in ATM / Debit account ... transfer online when the need arises ... don't request for ATM card from your main account or never use / activate the main account ATM card ...

Credit cards can be used to keep track of expenses ... you get a free list of your expenses monthly ... I use credit card even for less than 100 purchases at the grocery ... better if you have a cash back or rebate card ...

*jut ... having a fuel rebate credit card would be useful to you since you use a lot of fuel ...

Security Bank Cash Back Card is still more useful since they don't have conditions on the rebate ... other cards require you to make a similar amount of non-fuel or non-grocery purchase before you can get a rebate ... For example, to get a 3% or 5% rebate from 10,000 worth of fuel purchase ... you need to have an equivalent 10,000 of non-fuel spending like shopping or grocery ...
