it's easy to live from paycheck to paycheck, if one is sure that the paycheck days arrive with un-failing regularity.
the united states is a nice place to live in, if one has a stable, good-paying job.

I think you mixed up salaried worker (and pension) with living paycheck to paycheck. Living paycheck to paycheck is never good as uls have stated.

Hi Cathy. Yes, I have relatives in the US who lived from paycheck to paycheck. Lalu na noong nagka-recession (pre-Clinton Presidency). Our relatives in the PH had to send them money kasi they were laid-off from work. Eh yung pang toll fee nga hindi alam kung paano babayaran.

Now they're doing a lot better pero ang hirap nung pinag-daanan. Savings was not part of their vocabulary.

My cousins all went to serve in the US Armed Forces (Navy and Marines) so they could avail of free tertiary schooling.

in low income areas you can't find fresh produce but fast food is everywhere

fastfood is really cheap in America



if you're a low income parent it's more affordable to feed your kids burgers and soda everyday

in low income areas they only have convenience stores and dollar stores and the only food you can buy are packaged and processed food and soda which is really cheap

Yes. But, living paycheck to paycheck means you're totally dependent on getting the next paycheck because you don't earn much. Plus, you don't have anything else to pay your expenses with. One late paycheck and you're in trouble.

A salaried worker will not necessarily depend on the next paycheck because the take-home pay could be more than enough to cover all expenses and still have plenty of leftover funds. A late paycheck wouldn't be a problem.

I can’t get it. In the US, people there have very good education & inspite of that, there are so many people on welfare & homeless. I think the competition is so great, the pressure & expectation is so high that people eventually break. Is it true that among the homeless are professionals who lost everything?

I was talking to a filipina studying in the US for college. She wanted to move back since she didn’t like the idea of getting a Student Loan. She said usually, your’e way into your 40’s before you fully pay for it & only then can you be financially free.
