Agree, and the runway is very long....

There are courses/skill classes which are more expensive that med school, but with a much shorter runway.... Now, that's really a drain....

That's great, starting them young to be resourceful and training them to work for their goals.

My brother is doing the same now. I gave him a nice phone for his birthday 2 years ago. He used it as startup capital for buy and sell. Now he has a 6-digit savings account and has a far nicer phone than I do. I was never that entreprenurial when I was in college - I'm hoping he keeps up that entreprenurial spirit and that he finds success in business later on.

Precisely what Big said - character building. A few of my rich friends could've gotten everything easy for them, but their parents always instilled the value of working hard and building a name for yourself.

I think these guys are better off right now compared to my other friends who were always just given things and therefore have no drive or sense of urgency to stand up on their own. Yung iba perpetual student, yung iba palamuning COO, yung iba nagtatrabaho lang para masabing may sweldo pero in reality powered by parents pa rin. Then when the inevitable day comes that their parents are gone, they tend to easily squander their inheritance because they never fully understood how hard it was to provide for the life they enjoyed.

Very true bro. Law and aviaton is also very expensive, but you get quicker ROI. Doctors really don't go into the field for money - those that do easily burn out even before they become consultants.
