What I noticed with my PHD officemates MAJORITY have no work ethics. Walang malasakit sa company. There are still some na matino pero most that I have worked with take advantage of the company's resources. Little things such as office supplies. Papasok ng late pero magfi file ng overtime. Pati sa pananamit ilang beses na call out (women wearing skirts that are too short, men wearing checkered short sleeve polos). Using the company landline to call long distance or abroad. Taking too much food when there are events. Maingay (no respect for those that are working)
I really liked it much better when the company was very discerning of their employees. As a fresh grad, I had an interview where I was asked how I will go to work. When I said I had a car, I was asked if I was driving or I had a driver.

Never ko naman nakita na nag-in-your-face si Dr. D about his MD here in Tsikot.
I don't see anything wrong with his post either. It's certainly not brandishing his profession.

Bakit balik na baliw mga tao sa La Lola churros? I was very disappointed when I finally got to try it. I just gave it to my fat lab.

point ko lang there are people who would rather hire people from humble backgrounds
like those from public elementary&HS, then graduated from not-so-prestigious colleges/universities
consider this: the dropout rate for poor students is very high
many dont even finish HS
so it says a lot about a poor person who manages to finish college
it takes a lot of perserverance for someone from lower-socioeconomic level to finish college
it's likely that person has characteristics that will make him/her valuable to a company

continuation...
easy for rich kids to finish school
they don't face financial problems like poor kids do
even the laziest rich kid can end up with a diploma (thanks to well-connected parents)
and there's the thing about salaries
they don't need the money
rich kids get allowances bigger than starting salaries
on top of the very comfortable living conditions provided by their parents
any day they don't feel like going to work they'll just stay in bed
you don't really want an employee like that
