-- the protesters did attack the police van, but it seemed like they were backing off just before it went into ramming mode...or else some protesters would have been sideswiped already at the onset.

-- normally, if you want to intimidate the people around the van, you would do a start-stop maneuver to scare them off. This guy floored the gas pedal in each run.

-- the driver clearly saw the woman in green go down in front of him, but instead of stopping or reversing, he lurched forward.

-- imho, it looked like the driver panicked or got enraged. There were a group of riot police just a few feet away from the van(out of camera), as to why they didn't shove the protesters off the van, i don' know.

i'm not defending the protesters, but imho the PNP messed up.

Typical M.O.: start a fight, then play the victim when the police hit back...though i'm not sure how they're going to spin this -- technically everyone, the PNP, the Left, etc. are all getting along in this administration.

Every morning, there's a big flock of pigeons that like to roost at the roof of our house. I sometimes have to throw a small rock or pebble to make them fly off.

There are times I pretend I threw a rock at them and they flew away. But, the next day, they remembered what I did the previous day and would not fly away. So, I had to throw an actual rock at them to get them to fly off. Then, they'll remember that the next day, and so on.

It's a huge flock with at least 50 birds and much more. I don't want too much bird **** on the roof. The neighbors at the house across the street don't mind them. So, I make sure the birds stay on their roof.

Just some out of the box thinking here...i don't suppose you can attach motion sensors to a speaker...sort of like a loud scarecrow? Thing is though, the neighbors may complain about it.

^ last year my niece encountered an injured wayward young owl by the roadside in our village in las pinas. We collected it and nursed it back to health until it escaped one night a few months after. The damn thing didn't even thank us 😁

I know there are laws against keeping birds of prey in custody so i called the denr to inform them of our caged visitor. They were pretty useless though since they didn't bother to pick-up the poor animal

All it ate were little slithers of raw chicken. It pretty much kept to itself since i never heard it hoot nor coo nor do whatever

    * I had to edit since i realized a year has already passed

I never saw an owl once when I lived at LPC. It's probably because there were mostly fields and not so many trees back then. We saw plenty of wild quail though.

I guess the owls moved in once all the trees that have been planted from the green program got taller.

^ i'm thinking it's somebody's pet but owls were pretty common back In the day in philamlife village i'm told. They were found usually in phase 2 when there were no houses there yet

But i haven't seen one swooping around in ages in manila so you can Imagine my surprise when i was informed the niece and the family driver caught one

Btw, there is a crow flying about in the village park. I just don't know if there is more than one since the crow/s here is/are skittish and pretty elusive.

Aren't owls carnivores? What would you feed them if you kept one as a pet? But it would be cool to have one. [emoji106]

^ like i said eatlier we fed it slithers of chicken meat. Sometimes pork but that was rare though.

Not as cool as a pet as i'd hoped because it was pretty aloof. Ni magpahimas ayaw eh. Pero siguro iba ang storya kung nakuha sya as an owlet

So i guess it was best it escaped even though the plan was to release it eventually

Whoa! Just last Wed night on our way home, nasa loob na kami ng village in Alabang, nagulat kami ni misis na may malaking ibon that flew above our car. It was the 1st time I've ever seen one that big na wala sa zoo. It's not everyday na makaencounter ng ganun. Para siyang eagle sa laki. Naisip ko rin na pwedeng owl kasi gabi na yun. Could it have been this owl na inalagaan niyo? Hehe. Sabi ko rin baka pet yun na nakawala.
