Hi! If you don't mind, guys, I just want to know who's got what and what made you decide to purchase your current vehicle?Looks? Performance? Price? etc. And if you'd be given the cash to buy another brandnew one today, what brand/model will you get?
When I got my inheritance from my Lolo(+), my wife and I wanted a vehicle that has a highground clearance, matipid at matibay so we settle for an AUV(Highlander XTRM). The Civic Esi is a parent-given car so ok lang. The only problem I have now is where to get the money to maintain and modify these things esp the Honda which is already an 8 year old car. We can't sell because of the number-coding scheme and also my wife uses the car.

Ungas drives the BEAST anywhere around town and even out-of-town trips especially during offroad trails.
1997 Nissan Patrol Safari series (GQ)
- Comes with 4.11 diff gears with standard rear diff lock.
- Low torque TD42 inline-6 diesel engine.
- Coil sprung suspension system.
- Live axles.
- Front and Rear coolers, great for drinks on the go.
If I would enough dough at hand, I'd import a Dubai spec Nissan Patrol GU or Land Cruiser 105 series.
>> my parents purchased this because one of our relatives was working then as a sales consultant for Mazda. plus the fact that it is feature laden as compared to the other 500K alternatives back then. actually, this was the first brand new vehicle that we got. been using this since then but was formally given to me as a grad gift around 3 years ago.
Toyota Rav4 J
>> we were actually looking for a 2nd hand SUV at first - as my dad has this "Pajero" Pinoy mentality. but as the budget for this increased, we slowly moved on to the brand new compact SUV selection. was actually looking at the Escape, Forester and the Rav4. I was really pushing for the Escape then - but they didn't like the looks of it (they saw the red unit) plus the fact that the Escape was a hot item then (you need to purchase from the ridiculous Ford Credit program and about P50K worth of accesories). I was just dismayed with GM Shaw as they didn't even entertain me while I was looking at the Forester - what a shame! we didn't even consider the Vitara as it was just too cramped. the Rav4 was just perfect as it has almost everything - nice engine and good looks! actually, this is for my brother but since he still cannot drive am still the one using it. hehehe... sneaky me
for our next purchase (around 1 - 2 years down the road), i'll surely be getting a Mazda. the Mazda6 does look really yummy but am hoping that they release the one with the 2.3L engine. am still impressed with the performance of the Mazda after all these years as it handles nicely and with some mods it can still leave the newer cars eating my dust.
Me & my wife were eyeing for either a terrano or a vitara. We finally chose the terrano because it is diesel, bigger & roomier inside, & I like the exterior macho look. It also has a smoother ride.
My next vehicle would be a brand new 4x4 pickup, either a frontier or a strada.
My wife & i had been dreaming of owning a vehicle, kahit noong college pa kami everytime na makakita kami ng Honda Civic lagi naming sinasabi bibili tayo nyan someday, so the big event came, we saved and ready to choose a vehicle that will suite our needs, we thought about a Car (Honda Civic, i almost bought Supierreman's Civic) then my wife changed her mind (so as i) and we shifted to Vitara (mas ok kasi lalo na sa long trips like Isabela to Pangasinan or Isabela to Laoag) as well as mas ok sa offroad kasi nga meron pang 1 kilometer na rough road sa amin, but then changed our mind again, finally we reached our decission, buy an AUV(Toyota Revo). My wife's so happy with the REVO( besides she's the one who knows how to drive in the first place,ha~ha~ha~).
Toyota REVO GLX Diesel Model Yr. Nov. 2000
1. spacious
2. car like
3. di tagtag
4. malakas ang hatak
5. malakas ang AC
6. maluwang ang engine bay
7. satisfied sa Service Center
Note: Special thanks to all Tsikoteers for all the inputs... You're always around answering my Queries from Honda to Vitara to AUV.
> if i have a cash or bumaha ng pera sa briefcase ko? Wow, i definitely go for the Ford Everest 4x4 P1.21 million (only in my dreams)

hmmmm. mr. lancer ako eh. my second car was an EL type, tapos naging box-type, tapos singkit, tapos itlog, ngayon pizza. ala lang, ganda kasi ng tayo nya, tapos ang mura ng maintenance, good everyday car.
pero if i would have the chance to get a new one today, i'll get a corolla altis.
It was my dad's company car back when he was still working for manila pen..i inherited it from him on 2001. it has been my ride eversince. compared to other 1300 engines it packs a wallop with its 16-valves and EFI system. it might not be as easy to maintain like corollas and lancers but its the prestige that i like about the car.
2001 kia carnival
we bought this van so that we can bring the whole family on excursions or wherever we plan to go, without me, the designated family driver looking like a chaffeur. i really enjoy driving this van, with its gutsy diesel engine and quiet cabin it can pass as my daily commuter.
if i had the money, just like HG - i'd invest it on a corolla altis.
1992 lancer EL singkit - easy to maintain and fuel efficiency.
i sold my 1978 ford escort and my owner jeep to purchase this car (it was brand new then, costs me P220,000). it was a basic unit only (sanden trs aircon lang ang accessory), kasi plus P20,000 daw kapag may sounds na kasama. dinala ko na lang sa banaue after purchasing para sa mga tints, floormats and sound system.
if i had the money, i'll get a new starex svx or new crosswind or a second hand pajero.
Mitsu 4x2 pickup. Easy maintenance, cheap parts, roadworthy vehicle, high ground clearance, cheap fuel...and the most important of all: I got it at 100k only...
