And mahal pa rin kahit 2nd hand. Looked at 2nd hand stores in Tokyo and HK and they are holding their value well.

Hmmm. Since free tuition na daw ang SUCs maybe I can empty the kids' college fund...

IWCs are nice but they look good only on bigger wrists. The case sizes of IWCs are on the large side.

Thanks doc but don't really have the budget for it. Its just the anonymity I enjoy when going to a far away place that gives me courage to go window shopping for these things.

Maybe due for a service and regulation bro. It might have also gotten magnetized which should be an easy fix. But even then these mechanical watches aren't really accurate. Even Chronometers have a mean daily rate of -4/+6 seconds, a far cry from quartz that run -1/+1.

that's strange.
the seiko 5s i grew up with... mabilis lahat sila, even when new, hindi mabagal. about 3 minutes a week. maybe yours does need servicing.
an analog quartz watch costing less than half a seiko 5, will run rings of accuracy around the mechanical chronometers costing an arm and a leg. plus, hindi pa namamatay kapag na-iwan sa tocador over the weekend.
but there is indeed, the pleasure of a good mechanical watch on one's wrist...
now, if only someone will gift me with a basic rolex... or a grand seiko.. or even a sarb...
