Hindi naman siguro, they have actuaries in insurance companies, and hindi naman ganyan ka frequent yung ganyang event for them to consider raising premiums for that. The reason why AOG and other widespread calamities are generally exclusions in the insurance industries is because the latter are considered under what are called collated risks. Sobrang widespread yung loss/devastation that malulugi sobra ang insurance. Yung mga AOG na cover, bale by specific agreement lang talaga with the insurance company, and hence, yung special premium to help distribute the loss.

    i remember, post-ondoy,
trapik sa harap nang mga casa, because of the numerous drowned cars parked in front, awaiting resuscitation or resurrection...

tignan natin in the following few weeks, kung maraming ipaparada sa harap nang casa for flooding repair...

hintay din tayo from post-ers, if the AOG insurance coverage really works as advertised.

Really? Ang problema kasi diyan a lot of SUV owners are too overconfident in the capabilities ng mga sasakyan nila

Case examples diyan would be yung na post na video sa forum na Land Rover na lumusong sa Araneta Avenue, against the current pa i.e. paharap yung makina sa flow ng tubig, and yung isang mayabang na bumusina pa sa nagstop na pickup truck, tapos nadala ng agos yung SUV niya nung nilusong niya sa running water.

Ang yayabang kasi eh. I have a 4wd vehicle also but ingat ako sobra pag crossing water. One thing is hindi mo alam talaga gaano kalallim yung tubig, and if there are hidden dangers under the water (butas, sharp rocks, etc.) na di mo nakikita... Salbahe pa yung mga iba, pinapa-alon pa sa mga smaller vehicles na hirap na hirap wag tumirik...

One acquaintance of mine from Rizal province wasn't able to report for work today. This morning, Ortigas Ave daw was allegedly so full of stalled vehicles she just had to turn back...

    years ago (habagat flooding?),
there was this video of a vehicle known for its flood-fording abilities (wrangler nga ba ito?), braving the flood somewhere near monumento yata.
there was a lively discussion about the vehicle's factory-spec flood-fording abilities, the driver's faith in his vehicle's abilities, and his knowledge of how deep the flood was in that stretch of road.

    however,
in another portal at about the same time,
the same driver was being interviewed.
as it turned out, the driver wasn't thinking about how deep the flood was, or what he thought of his vehicle's flood-fording abilities.
on interview by the congratulatory crowd, all he said was, "i wasn't thinking about anything except, i just wanted to get home".
    lucky guy, him!

Ang talo talaga sa mga biktima ng flooded vehicles ay yung mga nagbayad ng comprehensive insurance but without AoN/AoG coverage. Biro mo, you paid for a premium na hindi mo magamit sa sasakyan mo na practically totaled na.
