    Agreed, parang local media completely missed the story.
    I saw it on /r/space and from astronomy channels on youtube, but failed to find a single (timely) local report.

    many years ago, there was this local journalist who ... kinda specialized on science-related topics. i avidly devoured his articles back then.
    it appears, none of our current writers has taken on his cape...

    as a far aside,
    total solar eclipses are kinda common. every 18 months or so.
    but what makes it seem rare, is when it occurs in inhabited places where humen there can easily observe it.

    GMA covered it. Sa probinsiya kasi nangyari. A lot of media companies have been scaling back operations even before the pandemic and before ABSCBN got closed down. Most are now relying on stringers (paid on as published or shown basis) or netizens (free!).
