    Based on data from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration,

    Ondoy dumped only 455 millimeters of rainfall in 24 hours in 2009

    and

    the habagat in August 2012 dumped only around 472 millimeters of rainfall.

    Mahar Lagmay, executive director of Project Noah, said on his Twitter account that the rainfall amount for August 18 (Sunday) using the Doppler Radar was 600 millimeters in 24 hours.

    another factor siguro kaya hindi kasing grabe ng ondoy nangyari ngayon kasi yun ulan eh pahinto hinto. may time yun baha na mag-subside, whereas nung ondoy eh tuloy tuloy talaga.

    nung ondoy lang kasi talaga inabot yung kanto from where i live. now wala.

    UPDATED CEB ADVISORY: The NAIA T3 has suspended ramp operations due to flood this morning. CEB flights have not been cancelled at this time, as those already at the airport will still be released for flight. CEB flights bound for Manila are on hold in their origin stations until ramp operations in T3 resume.

    CEB passengers coming from Luzon, who are unable to take their flights today due to flooding in their area or en route to the airport, AND those BOUND FOR MANILA today may rebook or reroute their flights without penalties, for travel within 30 days from original travel date; or put the value of their fare in full travel fund.

    Same news from PAL... the runways maybe flooded.

    PAL Advisory: As of 7am

    Extension of Waiving of Rebooking Fees

    Philippine Airlines and PAL Express passengers who are unable to take their flights today (Aug 20 2013) due to prevailing weather conditions and flooding, may rebook their flights without penalties.

    Affected passengers have 30 days from today to rebook their flights to the same booking class to ensure that no penalty charges are imposed.

    As of 7AM all flights slated out of Manila are on hold due to weather.
    Take off activities will resume once rains subside. As of this time there are no cancellations of flights.


    Davao - Manila flight PR 808 which departed DVO at 506AM was diverted to Clark Airport and arrived there at 730AM. Estimated arrival in Manila is 9AM.

    bakit meron area ngayon na bumaha pero hindi naman bumaha or hindi ganon ka grabe ang baha nung ondoy or habagat? and vice versa? aside from the amount of rainfall, malaki din ba ang factor sa pag bukas ng dam? who controls the flood?
