Even the moderate Republicans are trying to distance themselves from the Tea Party. They realize how stupid this whole thing is.

Democrats didn't shut down the government. The government shut down because the Tea Party pulled off the ultimate filibuster by drawing out the budget signing past its deadline. Unlike the Philippines, where no budget means status quo... when no budget is passed in the US, no money comes out of the coffers to fund the Federal government.

The smart thing for the Republican party to do is to allow Obamacare to pass. And if it hurts the economy and hurts the people, then they've got great talking points for winning the next Presidential election, and can fix it there.

What they're doing now is simply ensuring the Democrats will win the next election. And the next. And the next. What sane person is going to vote a bunch of spoiled, petulant extremists into power? Even if they're right about Obamacare?
Republicans are not saying to shut down, just lessen the implementation. But that's a good idea in a political stand point to let Obamacare pass they let people see what it can do to the economy. It's just me that sees this in the republicans side.

the budget bill is supposed to be budget only but Republicans kept attaching Obamacare to it
They did pass clean bills... But outright rejected by Democrats.

In my mind, if it's going to strain the economy, even its a law... There is not much hurt if they let people sign waivers that don't need Obamacare care. The white house can't even put out numbers on who signed up. In an example, (I think it was Maryland but I can be wrong) weekly numbers should be in the thousands but only 300+ did. A waiver isn't that bad in my mind.
