I've been to Naval Air Station (NAS) Keflavik back in the 90's. Summers are too short and gloomy. Winters are harsh and gloomy. The place is much too cold year round, even for me.
When it comes to islands, I rather be at the Azores than iceland. I also spent a short time in Lajes Field, Azores. Much nicer in my opinion.
I much prefer the year-round balmy, clear skies weather of Arizona. Besides, I like to wear as little as possible. Try driving without a t-shirt on in Iceland. Brrrrr.

No they didn't. They probably assumed people moving in will adjust to the weather. From my own experience, it's easier said than done.
It's easier for me to move from cold to warm climates than from warm to cold. I rather move to the Philippines than live in those "cold" countries.

--Misleading measure of quality of life. Some scholars (from "other" schools of thought think otherwise)think that its too neoclassical, absolute measure arbitrary measure.
--The quest for a "real" measure of "well-being" or "quality of life" continues...
I think in Nordic Countries (e.g. Finland) and Japan boast of the highest national suicide rates....
--Oh well...these are the same guys who pegged absolute poverty threshold at US $ 1 day....
