I was once like you guys, I laugh everytime I read jokes about schools but when I went overseas as an immigrant, I had a humbling experience, humbling enough that it made me realize that a real test for a student is to deal not only with academic problem but financial as well. I was glad that thru the help of the Government, I got student loan for my university, accomodation allowance for my stay and got a part time job in a supermarket. Combining work, study and hunger is not a laughing matter. I am grateful that I was supported and pampered by the NZ Government and because of this experience, I can relate to those Filipino students who have less in life. Yes, it was meant to be a joke and I became serious about it, but is it funny?Especially if you are taunting other students that they can only go to Araneta if there's a jeep?Duh! I maybe dumb for not getting the punchline.
Katuwaan lang at hindi makabuluhan. Yeah right!

jeezz. i am also like you. some say im a rich brat back home. studying in ateneo. i also studied in a computer school that's "less" prestigious than AMA.

now im also an immigrant. i worked as a waiter. i worked as a housekeeper. i worked as a clinic assitant aka dakilang alalay sa research company. i work as a cook in kfc....just to earn money and have a diploma as a nurse.

so wtf is the connection of these facts to these jokes na totoo namang katuwaan lang!? kung ayaw mong mapikon, wag mo basahin. masyado ka nagpapaapekto sa napakaliit na bagay.

just continue with your life as a very good student worthy of getting help from the government of new zealand and work as hard as you can para nga naman umasenso ka ng husto.

the best tip that i can give you is STOP READING THIS THREAD.

i assume you are mature enough to understand that.

    jeeez. relax buddy.

PS:if you dont have a joke to share...and would rather dwell on humbling experiences..i started a thread last year that you wanna visit:

    oo nga..reading this was fun...

bakit ako working student pero hindi taga AMA...taga UP....pero hindi ako naiinsulto...kasalanan ko bang kulang pera ng magulang ko para ipan-tustus sa kolehiyo ko...it is not insulting for me...makapal mukha ko kasi

heard this song before in my college days:

    "MARYKNOLLer very cheap
you can get them very quick
for a nickle, for a dime
    you can F**K them anytime."

    true kaya?

A nga pala, Peyups din ako, MaSci nung HS.

    Natawa talaga ako dito, sobra!

What students say upon reaching their destination:
La Sallian: Driver, I'm getting off here.
Atenean: Gotta find a parking space.
    UP: Mama, bayad po!
    AMA: Sukli mo!
Btw, Peyups ini! 88-06933! Inabutan ko po yung implementation ng STFAP. Bracket 9 po ako.

Thank you for stating the obvious. The thread title is University Insults. This is not a politically corrent thread at all. None of the people posting here are making pretentions about being politically correct. If you find this thread offensive or insulting... well, don't be surprised. It's not that you didn't get the punchline. What you didn't get is that it's quite explicit that the thread will be offensive.

It's also ironic that you're bragging about your humbling experiences.

Thanks for bringing back the memories!

    My contribution:

    Q: Excuse for being late?

Ateneo: Cars going to Miriam creating traffic.
Miriam: Cars going to Ateneo creating traffic.
La Salle: Could not find parking.
    UP: May tumatakbong nakahubad kanina!

Yeah right! hahahahahaha!

Hehehe... I'm showing my age here...

My barkada and I were at that fateful game... We were at the bleachers of Rizal Memorial and when we went in there were these goonistic men at the screen barriers separating DLSU and Letran. When the Letran students started that chant and in fact some of them went to the barrier to taunt us, the goonistic men stood up and said: "Ano ba ang gusto niyong mangyari???"

The Letran students shut up and went back with their tails between their legs...
