Air drop relief goods? It might be bad than good. Dog eat dog world na kung ganyan. I think it is better to establish first a relief center managed by, lets say the military to gain control of distribution of relief to those in need.. hindi yung basta ibagsak lang yung goods...baka mas marami pang magpapatayan nyan...
Pwede naman eh, first to be dispatched by helis would be the military and establish a relief operation center to control the crowd if ever then drop the needed supplies thereafter. It is a different story kung may lgu pang we can say that is intact or properly functioning. But it seems otherwise...
Mahrap talaga yung air drop. Only the strong will survive. Kawawa mga bata at babae. Mabuti na slow but sure kesa fast but bara-bara. :-)

do both airdrops and relief center. establishing and organizing a command post will take time. the people on the ground need the food and water 5 days ago.Air drop relief goods? baket wala ako nakikita sa news na deployed ang armed forces ng PH to help with the cleanup and recovery? are they on the ground? littered with corpses pa din ba ang disaster area?
AFP Continues Road Clearing, HADR Operations in Tacloban, Panay Island
MMDA at Fire Fighters lang pinakita ng media.
yung asawa ni goma na si cong. lucy torres, di ba taga ormoc yun?
tahimik ata. o baka biktima rin ni yolanda.
i'm no expert on such matters...
If they really need to resort to airdrops, baka pwede diskartehin..e.g.
if possible, do an airdrop en-masse, as in 4-6 helicopters simultaneously dropping off goods. Baka pwede ikalat nila ng husto yung relief goods over a wide area(without hitting anyone on the head btw)....and while that's going on, have the military rope down, set up a perimeter, put up the command post. Kumbaga distraction yung airdrop ng goods.
Then again, things like these are easier accomplished within one's head, where we don't need to worry about execution, logistics, or even if we have enough helicopters to start with.

I agree, it is easy to think about it but difficult to execute. Pero the thing is i think it can be done kung may assets lang talaga. But now that the international community is contributing, even their own military, it can be done. But thats just me thinking out loud...
Btw, thanks to those who helped, helping and will help unconditionally. May it be local or international persons or entity... sa mga pulitiko na na epal mode, ewan ko na lang... nakakahiya...
what.the.hell.
BIR won’t impose tax on relief goods if coursed through gov’t agencies
How does that work? So kelangan pang magpa accredit ang UK, US, Japanese govts. sa DSWD/NDRRMC?
So let's say the entity is *not* accredited, or doesn't go through the NDRRMC/DSWD -- they donate US$1m, so US$880k lang mapupunta sa victims, and the BIR gets US$120k? How and from whom will they get the US$120k?
How about the first respondents? Do they get taxed as well? So let's say they donate canned goods, how does the taxation work?
Can the NDRRMC/DSWD handle the paperwork/auditing that comes with that?
And why are we talking about VAT in the first place? There is no sale that takes place, kaya nga donation ang tawag dun.
Madness. Sheer, utter, motherf*cking madness. If there's an 8th deadly sin, red tape should be it.

Some heartwarming news for a change.
Businessman gives away free fuel in typhoon-ravaged TaclobanBusinessman gives away free fuel in typhoon-ravaged Tacloban
By Thea Alberto-Masakayan | Yahoo Southeast Asia Newsroom – Fri, Nov 15, 2013
He too lost a lot when typhoon Yolanda ravaged Tacloban City but this businessman chose to give whatever he could share.
Jimmy Yaokasin, who has five branches of Star Oil gasoline station in Tacloban City, willingly gave away his remaining fuel stocks to typhoon victims.
"People were lining up with small containers…it's our responsibility to help those who are not as fortunate as us," Yaokasin told Yahoo! Southeast Asia in a phone interview.
Although his business suffered due to Yolanda's wrath, Yaokasin said he is grateful his family is intact. Giving away fuel from all five branches of Star Oil is the least he could do to help his kababayans in Tacloban.
Fuel is essential in typhoon-ravaged Tacloban. People use it for cooking should there be food to cook, and for motorcycles, which had been among the few modes of transportation in the crisis area.
As much as he'd like to give more, replenishing his gasoline stations with supply is almost impossible due to clogged roads, he added.
Yaokasin's house had been destroyed too and he evacuated his family to Cebu, while he's trying to mobilize relief efforts for Yolanda survivors.
"Our house is destroyed but my family is safe. We have friends, our network is bigger and we can do something for those left behind," Yaokasin said.
Now, he's appealing for more trucks to help de-clog roads and to help expedite relief transport.
"We're organizing so food can reach several towns. For delivery what we need is more trucks with fuel, with drivers," he added.
He also appealed to those who are capable of leaving the city to evacuate, so there will be "less mouths to feed" and relief goods will be given to those who have nothing left.
Team Rubicon has a strike force now on ground zero. Operation Seabird is now active.

Pasikat lang yan si Henares. Pero sa batas, totoo may nasaad na may donor's tax. Pero this is not the right time na pag-usapan yan dahil sa nasa crisis pa tayo. Tapos ang masama, napaka-sarcastic pa ni Henares. Yun ngiti niya pag iniinterview eh napakasarcastic ng dating.
