I really love how these CNN interviews further exposes our officials' incompetence and buffoonery.
But hey, we reap what we sow. So when the next Yolanda-esque calamity hits Metro Manila, we're all on our own. Maybe in the chaos afterwards we could actually hang some of these thieves.

Wag na kasi siya umepal. Ayan tuloy, ang sama ng tingin ng tao sa kanya ngayon. Tsaka dapat wag na siya maging newscaster o magbalita pa. Purely biased talaga ke Mar yun style niya eh.

Navy Admiral Harris of US Pacific Command ordered to activate USNS Mercy for the Philippines
PEARL HARBOR (NNS) -- Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr., commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, directed the activation of the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) Nov. 13 to be ready to support ongoing disaster relief efforts in the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan.
Berthed in San Diego, USNS Mercy has been in a reduced operating status, which is normal for a hospital ship. Harris' activation order accelerates Mercy's ability to attain full operating status to include moving necessary personnel and equipment to the ship.
If ordered to deploy, Mercy would get underway in the next several days and could arrive in the Philippines sometime in December, joining other U.S. Pacific Fleet units already supporting Operation Damayan.

he doesnt \get it
blaming it on LGUs doesnt make him look less bad
typical pinoy trait of not taking responsibility, passing blame
in the eyes of the world he is the head of the Phil. govt so whatever the Phil. govt does or doesnt do reflects on him
Amanpour asked Aquino re typhoon Yolanda could define his presidency
she was drawing a parallel to Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina Left a Mark on George W. Bush?s Presidency - US News and World Report
nasira si Bush sa response niya sa Hurricane KatrinaBotching Katrina. It was a disaster at every level. But in political terms, the government's failure to respond effectively to Hurricane Katrina in the late summer of 2005 was Bush's biggest setback at home. "Katrina showed he is incompetent," says Howard Dean, outgoing chairman of the Democratic National Committee. "Before Katrina, everyone, including America's friends and enemies, believed if something awful happened in the world, you could call in the Americans and they'd fix it." The government response to the hurricane, which devastated New Orleans and much of the Gulf Coast, ruined that reputation, Dean argues.
Bush seemed slow off the mark as millions of people suffered, and he created a lasting image of isolation when the White House released photos of him, a solitary figure in his cushy seat, looking out a window on Marine One at the hurricane devastation far below. He also made a huge mistake when he praised Michael Brown, the director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, with a now infamous attaboy—"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job"—even though the agency was botching the disaster response, adding to the impression that Bush was out of touch.
White House advisers say the blame for the poor Katrina response must be shared by the federal, state, and local governments, especially in dealing with the hurricane-related problems in New Orleans. Bush defenders add that he was correct not to visit the disaster sites immediately because to do so would have greatly complicated the relief efforts on the ground.
More substantively, Bush refrained from having the federal government immediately take over the relief effort even when it became clear that the state and local governments in Louisiana were not up to the job. His aides say Bush was guided here by his experience as governor of Texas and his belief that such matters are best left to lower-level officials. "For him, it was a question of usurpation of power," says a former senior adviser. But his failure to act while thousands of desperate people, unable to find food or water, were appealing for help on national television erased his image as an effective decision maker.
Amanpour was telling Aquino baka ganyan din mangyari sa kanya

his mind was too focused on protecting himself / shifting blame
sa umpisa palang Amanpour asked him how he felt after seeing the damage but he didnt answer it
at least 1 sentence lang "i was devastated" pero wala
all i heard thoughout the interview was LOCAL GOVERNMENT LOCAL GOVERNMENT

"I haven't seen a large Philippine military presence out in these areas… the Philippines have not been invested over the years, through the years of corruption, through the years of the government siphoning money off of projects (infrastructure) like that..." - Anderson Cooper
